So I am flabbergasted right now. First I will give the background.
This girl, I'll call her "Ann" is in my study group for GOBC1. A couple of weeks back she told me how 'smart' I was in chemistry, and bla bla bla. Well a few days after that was our 2nd test. The morning of the test "Ann" sat next to me, she never does. I thought it was fishy so I never spoke a word to her during the exam, and made sure she couldn't see my scantron. A few classmates asked me why she sat next to me, which I had no reply. After that test, our instructor emailed all of us our grade, along with a spreadsheet that would tell us what we would need to get on our Final test in order to get an A,B, C etc. So tomorrow is our final. After class today, a group of us, "Ann" included was discussing what we needed to get in order to get an A. "Ann" needed 24/40 to get a C in the course. and a few others needed 30/40 for a B and me and another girl needed 33/40 for an A. So after every started to go there separate ways, "Ann" approached me and asked me if she could copy my answers for the test tomorrow, and that she would even PAY me. I was shocked. I told her NO. she then went on with this guilt trip, that she needs to pass this class, and she doesn't want to have to repeat it. I then expanded on my NO and told her that I refuse to jeapordize my education for her, I work/study to hard, to agree to cheating and possibly face been caught and thrown out. She then was offering more money. I had to then explain that despite how much she intends to offer the answer is still NO. She left pretty upset. I am shocked that she had the nerve to ask. No real point to this just 'venting' !

That's awful. I hope she's not going the Nursing route, can you imagine having a nurse take care of you that cheated her way through school? Scary.
I had something similar happen in my Psychology class, a friend of mine was taking it with me last quarter and begged me to write his final paper, offering me $300! He had a C- and was teetering on complete fail. I was appalled and told him not-so-nicely to go screw himself. I mean, come on, he's majoring in psych, and wants to cheat his way through the class! Ugh, the nerve of some people...

I'm surprised that she offered to pay you. Most people would ask and expect you to take care of their problem just 'cause.

I can't believe the nerve of some people sometimes!

Yes her major is nursing. VERY SCARY! I re-read my post (which I should've before hitting post) she needed 27/40 for a C. stupid number pad. :)
I can't believe the nerve of some students! If you want to succeed in your studies, then you have to STUDY! UGGG
THIS. It's really quite simple: study hard + good time mgmt (ie not partying all the time) = GOOD GRADES! Genius concept!

That's pretty disgusting. I think a lot of people have it in their heads that somehow nursing is going to be "easy money."
Do they watch too many WW2 movies? You know, the ones that romaticize girls becoming nurses just until they find a man to marry and whisk them away?
It's a competative bachelor of science degree. It's not a freaking joke. I mean, hello????? It would take everything I had NOT to say something to the prof, and I would tell the girl that in no uncertain terms.

I had to respond to this because in my History class this past semester, one guy actually did cheat. The instructor had left the room, and the guy pipes up, "Hey, what year was the Immigration Act?" People actually ANSWERED him!!
I knew who had asked the question, but I didn't know who responded. (I sat in the front row and didn't look.) I did end up telling the instructor via e-mail the day afterwards because I was so incredibly upset that he would get credit for that answer, and therefore think he got away with everything, if noone spoke up.
Tattletale? Yes. But if I had just let it go, I would have continued to steam over it. I work really really hard to earn my grades, and I earn them without having anyone give me the answers.
I think this girl needs to have a really severe wakeup call, and the professor definitely needs to know about it in case someone actually DOES decide to accept the payment. I wouldn't want her as my nurse.

I had an underclassman in nursing school offer me $800 for all of my careplans.. I was absolutely SHOCKED. I couldn't believe what I had just been asked.. walked away in a daze and proceeded to think about how someday that person is going to be standing over my mother/fathers bed..cheated their way through nursing school.
I don't know how you didn't say anything. I would have. There were some people cheating on the A&P I and II lab tests, so I told my professor and he took my word for it. He spotted them out and gave them 0's for the test. Also he caught them cheating again on the final...they got 0's and had to retake it. He should have had them expelled. I only hear professors preaching that and never actually go to the dean about it and expel anyone. I don't know why they don't practice that rule.

Money....
More students = more money
Less students = less money
