Chamberlain College of Nursing-FNP...accepted!!!

Published

I'm very excited as I just got my acceptance call! I was wondering if anyone else around here would be starting Oct 28th? I'd like to keep in touch to help each other out through this!

I've been a nurse for 8yrs and always knew I'd go back eventually....decided to pull the trigger a few weeks ago and apply. Now just need to get together some supplies and order my books! (going to buy a desk and make my little zen study area!)

good luck everyone!

i am planning on starting 7/7 as well at ccn. anyone else? maybe get a group together..

I am starting 7/7 too. Are you ready? Where do you live? I am already registered for my first class. I need to find out what book is needed so I can start looking around for it at a cheap price.

So close to home.. Im in el paso as well what class u registered for.?

No textbook required for NR 500. You only need the APA manual and make sure you keep it for the entire program.

I’m about to start NR 507(pathophysiology) next week. I’m looking at the syllabus and it appears to be a lot of work. There’s a lot of reading and we will have a three part case study to complete weekly. Part one of the case study must be answered by Tuesday, part two must be answered by Friday, part three must be answered by Sunday, and we must respond to at least one peer. The case studies are worth 100 points for each study. There will be weekly quizzes that will help us prepare for the exams, a mid-term, and a comprehensive final. Study guides will be available to help with exams but you have to fill in the answers which appear to be time consuming. Also, we must complete the workbook that comes with the textbook. I had a lot of questions and emailed the dean of the FNP program yesterday. He is very nice and helpful. I wanted to know what software if any that would be available to us for practicums. He stated we will be using epocrates and dynamed. In the capstone class (NR 661), it will be mandatory for us to take and pass the APEA review course in order to graduate. I hope this information helps.
