CGFNS exam

CGFNS exam is not a mandatory exam for licensure in the US. The only two exams are NCLEX-RN and the series of English exams, if you are not exempt from them.

The CGFNS exam is waived for Michigan if you are a Canadian nurse, or have worked for at least five years in the US as an RN. It is currently the only state where you cannot get licensed in another state, then endorse to there.

Illinois recently abandoned its requirement for the CGFNS exam, and now only requires the CES.

Most states are now just requiring the Credentials Evaluation Service (CES) done by CGFNS. This is different than the exam.

Immigration only requires that one exam be done, CGFNS or NCLEX. You will ultimately be required to sit for the NCLEX exam, so if you can afford to take that one, then that is the way to go.

Hope that this clears up any rumors that are flying around the world at the moment.

Yes.

I'm talking about the Certification Program exam administered by the CGFNS last November 9. The results were posted online at the CGFNS website about 23 hours ago.

Pass the CGFNS CP exam, plus an English Exam (I suggest IELTS coz it's cheaper), and you get your Visa Screen.

You can also use the NCLEX in lieu of the CGFNS CP exam to get your Visa Screen.

My question is how do I go about asking CGFNS to send a copy of my CG Certificate to a State BON???

I can't understand the information on the CGFNS website...or maybe I'm too sleepy! (It's 3 AM here!)

How much is it, and how long will it take to ask CGFNS to send the Certificate?

(The Certificate is the only thing I need to get my ATT.)

Yes, my English Exam line on the online Status Page says "Passed."

Due to Extreme Anxiety :chuckle I called up CGFNS and got this woman with a very heavy Southern drawl. Had difficulty communicating.

What I got was they'll need another 6 weeks to do "Post-CP Review" then they'll send me my certificate.

My question was, how do I ask CGFNS to send a COPY of my certificate to a State BON? The woman might not have understood, or might have misunderstood... I think CGFNS should list the service on their website.

They only have the service of sending a copy of the Credential Verification, but not the CGFNS Certificate.

I'm posting updates here so others can learn from my experience just as I've learned from others' experiences...

I passed also the cgfns for november! but my problem is what if i won't receive the letter of my numerical results like the first time, I took also the July exam but i failed and until now i still don't have the letter. I am worried that i might not get again my mail for november results.

That's exactly what I'm worrying about, that I might not get the letter from CGFNS. I didn't get 3 out of the 3 letters they sent me...

hello crisologo. i had a hard time accessing my online results also. suzanne help me, so im returning the gesture. when creating username and pasword, make sure you have an ID number. then on the CGFNS website, clisk on check status, log in, then clisk on order status. the table will appear below. click on the empty circle corresponding to your CP exam then click GO. your result will come out. it will say passed or failed.

Maybe i'll just wait until January and if i won't receive the letter, i would check in the post office or call the CGFNS office...CONGRATZ AGAIN FOR THE PASSERS

i'm just curious do you need anything to get ur cg certificate after passing the cg exam and ielts??? like any license or another application form or the cgfns will just send you a cg certificate? and

i haven't receive any letter from the cgfns and its about 7 weeks... hope i will get it soon!!

If you have passed the CGFNS CP Exam last November 9, and CGFNS already has your IELTS results (check the status online), then we only have to wait until CGFNS finishes with their Post-CP Review and then they'll send our CG Certificates to us.

If you took the exam in November, scores did not get posted as far as passing on the website until about two weeks ago, not even sure if the numeric scores have been received yet. You are looking at least another month or so before you will see your Certificate. Remember that it is also sent by snail mail.

You can see when it is actually sent by checking your account at CGFNS, it will post there when it is mailed.
