CGFNS exam

World Immigration

CGFNS exam is not a mandatory exam for licensure in the US. The only two exams are NCLEX-RN and the series of English exams, if you are not exempt from them.

The CGFNS exam is waived for Michigan if you are a Canadian nurse, or have worked for at least five years in the US as an RN. It is currently the only state where you cannot get licensed in another state, then endorse to there.

Illinois recently abandoned its requirement for the CGFNS exam, and now only requires the CES.

Most states are now just requiring the Credentials Evaluation Service (CES) done by CGFNS. This is different than the exam.

Immigration only requires that one exam be done, CGFNS or NCLEX. You will ultimately be required to sit for the NCLEX exam, so if you can afford to take that one, then that is the way to go.

Hope that this clears up any rumors that are flying around the world at the moment.

Hi, Suzanne,

I was just wondering. I am an RN here in MS but want to relocate in MI maybe next year..I did not do the CGFNS anymore but have my credentials evaluated. My question is.. if I need to have my license endorsed in MI..do I still have to sit down for the CGFNS?

Thanks.

Hi, Suzanne

I would like to inquire regarding the CES. Four years ago (year 2001), I filed the CES form for CGFNS/ICHP 'coz this is required in Florida Bon. I took the exam 2002 but sad to say I did'nt make it. Now, I am planning again to take the NCLEX-RN early next year. Do I still need to submit again the CES form? Hope you could give me advice so as to file it earlier. Thanks in advance. God bless you.

take care,

If you have not been working as a Registered Nurse in the US for five years, you will need to take the exam. Unless they change the rulings by then, then you will need the exam. If you were from Canada is the only exception.

Illinois has recently done away with the CGFNS requirement, Michigan may do that also.

If you are just retaking the NCLEX exam, and your credentials were accepted before, you ahould be okay. Best thing to do is contact the BON for Florida, as they make the final decision on what they will require. You would just need to resubmit an application for the re-take, but again speak to someone there.

is the NOV.9 2005 cgfns exam results has been released

Currently, if you do not have five years of work experience in the US, you will be required to write the CGFNS exam, unless you are from Canada. If so, then the requirement is waived.:)

ARe you sure? Are you saying the CGFNS nov 9 2005 results are out? where? and how do i check?

I doubt thatthey are out yet, it hasn't even been one month. When they are released, they will show up on your account on the CGFNS website. Just go to your account, and pull up everything that you have ordered, it will state pass or fail there. You will need to wait until you get the actual letter form them to receive your score. You also need the official letter from them to use for immigration.

what do you mean "and pull up everything that you have ordered" ? I took also the cgfns exam last nov 9 2005, do you have any idea if the results have been released?

Anyone here got results from cgfns NOV.9 2005 exam? when is ritalin best taken

Results are not out yet.

As far as Ritalin, depends on the age of the patient and what it is being used for. For children, it is usually given during the day, just before the y go to school, and sometimes another dose during school. For older patients, it can be given at night, or ?? depending on why it is being used.
