CGFNS exam

CGFNS exam is not a mandatory exam for licensure in the US. The only two exams are NCLEX-RN and the series of English exams, if you are not exempt from them.

The CGFNS exam is waived for Michigan if you are a Canadian nurse, or have worked for at least five years in the US as an RN. It is currently the only state where you cannot get licensed in another state, then endorse to there.

Illinois recently abandoned its requirement for the CGFNS exam, and now only requires the CES.

Most states are now just requiring the Credentials Evaluation Service (CES) done by CGFNS. This is different than the exam.

Immigration only requires that one exam be done, CGFNS or NCLEX. You will ultimately be required to sit for the NCLEX exam, so if you can afford to take that one, then that is the way to go.

Hope that this clears up any rumors that are flying around the world at the moment.

when do u think will the results of cgfns nov. 2005 will be released

hi crisologo....i dont think the results for the nov 9 CGFNS is out. i do know though that it takes about 2 months for the letter with the scores to arrive. earlier, for the pass/fail result in the CFGNS website. maybe around 5-6 weeks?

Yes, five to six weeks to see a pass or no pass on the CGFNS website under your account name. Actual letter with a numerical score takes about eight weeks to receive. It is the letter that you need to use for immigration, not just the pass or no pass on the computer.

My question is how do I go about asking CGFNS to send a copy of my CG Certificate to a State BON???

I can't understand the information on the CGFNS website...or maybe I'm too sleepy! (It's 3 AM here!)

How much is it, and how long will it take to ask CGFNS to send the Certificate?

(The Certificate is the only thing I need to get my ATT.)

Sent an application for Oregon BON (have some friends there), they sent me an email saying they need either Credential Evaluation Service or CGFNS Certificate before they can send me my ATT.

I can't find anything on the CGFNS website on sending a CGFNS Certificate to a BON.

sorry, but nothing will be done for another few weeks. you need to wait until you actually receive the letter in the mail with your numerical score.

You have to look up your account on the CGFNS website. Under that it will say what your status is, it will say passed or not passed where you go to the area that lists the different applications that you have submitted to them.

Go to Applicants --> Services --> Login...then click on the 3rd line, Check Order Status...Certification Program should be listed, click on the circle to its left then click Go below the list.

You should get an itemized list with Status...CP should be Passed.

I have 3 friends who also took the same November 9 exam, but their online Status Pages have "Incomplete" listed. I advised them to call up CGFNS directly, the number is on the Contact Page.

oh no.

with the legendary efficiency of that organization...imagine i never received the 2 id cards & 1 roster letter... this sucks.

what if i also do not get the letter with my score?

anyway, so i just send a photocopy of that letter to the bon?
