  1. I think HCAHPS has a negative impact on nursing care. We have to go beyond nursing care to be the maid and the waitress sometimes to please the patients so our hospitals can get high rating.
  2. I completely understand what you went thru. I was a waitress and a maid for one of my patients. After she complained about the nurse in the previous shift, I felt I had to do my best to correct this issue. Kept on calling me. I brought her water, juices while she was alone in the room. My big frustration and disappointement was when she had her husband in the room while I was checking on her. She requested water. I told the husband that I can show him the location of the pantry i. He said: " I know where the pantry is" and he handed me the pitcher. I really felt like I was the maid. I even thought of quitting. This is not nursing anymore. And in my opinion, this HCAHPS thing has to do a lot in it. We try to please patients so HCAHPS score can be high. I really think that HCAHPS is having a negative impact on nursing care.
  3. I have a comment about English test for visa screen and specially about the TSE. I find the rule of passing TSE with 50 is very unfair. If English test is mandatory for the safety of patients, well I can tell you some nurses are very lucky in finding a job even with a bad spoken english just because they didn't have to go thru English tests and because they already got a green card thru a relative or a parent for example. Why should passing english test be applied just to nurses filing for immigration thru employment? For example ,let's say I got a green card thru my husband and studied and pass NCLEX , I can easely find a job despite of the level of my spoken english. Why not all nurses are treated the same?If TSE is important,I think it should be applied to all nurses a GC holder or not. Any comment?
  4. Hi I recently past the NCLEX-RN test and got my license to work in Georgia. I am a foreign nurse and need someone who is willing to sponsor me. I am trying to find hospitals or agencies sponsoring for foreign nurses in Georgia? Thanks for any help
  5. I have a question about visa screen. I am already in the States on an H4 visa. My husband is on an H1 work permit. I recently received my nursing license to work . I did the TSE test 2 times and didn't pass (I got 45). Why do I have to do a spoken english test for the visa screen if I am already in the States? If my husband receive his green card , I will receive it too. So eventually I will be able to work without the TSE . I guess there are some nurses who have a green card working without passing a test of spoken english (In case they got the green card from their partner for example). This test of spoken english does not make any sense in some cases when nurses are already in the states. It is Illogic.

I just want to finish with the test.I did the practice test in CGFNS book and I am getting around 70 wrong answers from the 260 questions.I guess it is not bad :) I talked to someone who passed the CGFNS test one year a go. She said that each person got a different booklet. some got a lot of questions about psychiatry , other got alot of gynecology and someone elsen had a lot of respiatory questions and a lot of questions about drugs side effects.
