CGFNS chaos

As I had already posted, I passed the July 13th CGFNS Exam. I graduated from 2 different Nursing Schools. I did 3 years basic Nursing course and worked for 41 months then again did 2 year Bachelors degree in nursing which I passed in 2004. I requested both of my schools to send my credentials to CGFNS and they did so. CGFNS determined that my credentials met all the requirements and they allowed me to test which I passed. Now after 2 months since I took the CG exam, they have changed the status of my documents. They have written that, Nursing education from my first school does not meet the requirement and the second they received but did not accept. But in the Visa screen application status, they have written the same old things..meets all program requirement. They have written in explanation that, they have communicated with applicant about why the credentials were not acceped..but they have not mrntioned sending any correspondence to me in the correspondence column,, and I have not received one regarding this till now,they havent called me either. I wonder, why CGFNS allowed me to sit for the exam if I did not meet the requirements. . I am fed up with the inefficiency of CGFNS. This is ridiculous. CGFNS needs a lot of renovation in its system and working efficiency,,not only its physical appearance or Buildings.

i was worried..i took the cgfns exam this july and used an electonic scantron..and i missed 5 items to answer..my question was what will happen if i missed 5 items and did not put any mark on it..

is it true that the machine would not read it..and the score will be zero?and which will means i failed?hope i can hear an answer thanks..

i think those 5 marks are equivalent to 5 wrong answers. the chance of passing will depend on the remaining questions you answered and if you'll get the required passing score of 400.sometimes cgfns gives an "experimental" or an excess question that are not included in the checking of answers. when i took mine, there were 281 questions instead of the 260.just curious, why you missed 5 items.

it was short of time..i havent shade the remaining when he proctor said stop and put your pencil down.

the first part 150 and he second part is 121.

Once you have 15 or more posts you can use the pm system however if the member you are sending a pm to have less than 15 posts they can not respond to it unless you have given them your email address (via the pm system)

CGFNS is ridiculous. I signed up for their NY state credential service, and it's been almost 5 months, i'm still not finished with it! When i call and ask for help, they are extremely unhelpful, sometimes rude even. Im aware you are given 6 months to finish, but if they don't release information to you, how will you KNOW that it's your fault and not theirs? i was asking them to tell me the status of whether my nursing licensing agency even got my papers yet, because i have not heard from them in 5 months, and they replied "sorry but that's inside CGFNS information, we cannot release it. you'll just have to wait."

?!?!? i paid over $300 for this, and im afraid i'm going to reach deadline and have to start over...

hang in there, maybe you can talk to someone directly from their office in philadelphia.

i just recently posted a forum 5 minutes ago under "what state is the easiest to apply for?" and i also vented out about CGFNS!

I applied my CVS October 2008. Around JUly 2009, CGFNS told me that my school has not send my transcript yet to them and they said they will just forward my file to NY BON. Then i called my school again to forward my transcript. Around sept 2009, I emailed NY BON regarding my status. NY BON said they have all received my transcript, license endorsement and etc and they will mail me with details regarding my application. Now its JAn 2010, I did not received anything from NY BON. I even gave them my new address here. Nothing.

At this point, I dont really care coz I have my illinois and nevada license.

To sum it all up. CVS of CGFNS = very inefficient and unhelpful NY BON = slow to update too.

easiest to apply from my experience is with NEVADA (my initial state of licensure). however, you have to go thru CES. But you can expedite the process by getting in touch with your registrar in forwarding your transcript.

CGFNS is beyond any common sense. They are taking months to just look at your documents let alone review them. Rather than spill all the negative here I would encourage folks to look at alternatives as they do exist. CGFNS IS NOT THE ONLY ENTITY THAT DOES EVALUATIONS REPORTS. Also, just so you know folks, those that do aspire to come to the U.S. to work as a nurse should really start with the Boards of Nursing in states respective to where they wish to work. Also, you don't need to use CGFNS unless a BON specifically demands them as the only source.

I've been screwed by CGFNS two times in the row and I intend to let others know about it. Good luck everyone!
