Good morning! Have any of you taken CEU's for school nurses? Where did you find them? The children's hospital will offer some but they are usually during the school day.

Would you get paid for a "professional development" day?
I work another job and they provide all my CEUs. They are not specific to school nursing, but I don't have to pay for them so it works in my book!
I am currently getting my BSN, does that count towards my continuing education? I think it would

I was just looking around at nurse.com and seen they had some you could take, in fact there were 66 listed under school nurse! I have never used them before though, so you might want to check it out for yourself.

NASN website has a lot to offer. Many are free to members.

Also medline university. While not specifically targeted at school nurses, some interesting offerings.

Indiana doesn't require them. Which I've always found odd.
But, I plan to do them anyways.

In NJ, college credit for BSN counts 5 hours for each credit, I believe.

Your annual school nurse state conference might offer CEU's for breakout sessions offered during the conference.

I am not a school nurse (I wish) But I have been out of nursing for nearly 5 yeas and just recently re-entered. I took several CEUs before I even began applying for jobs. I use https://ceufast.com/courses I paid $30 bucks for a year of unlimited courses. It may be relevant to your field. You can check out what they have to offer before you pay for anything. They are accredited of course and their course work is relevant and easy to go through.

I second NASN! I get most of my CEUs there. Last summer they offered a good 3 part series entitled "Mental Health Training Intervention for School Health Providers in Schools (MH-TIPS) worth a whooping 15 CEUs! And it was FREE! The actual course was provided by some University but you could access it through NASN.
Thanks everyone!

I use nurse.com for my CEUs (albeit not school nursing ones). Their Unlimited CE is a good deal, and whatever isn't free (anything over 1.5 hours) is half off.
