Just wanted to know if anyone here got an e-mail invitation on Cedars-Sinai RN New Grad Program. I had my phone interview with them on December 29th. I received my e-mail today inviting me to the hiring event Open House for the Program on January 19th. I'm soooo nervous. It's been almost a year since I graduated and I finally got my first in-person interview! It's been so hard on all of us graduates! Let's hope for the best!
yes I have a bachelor in another field too! And also an associate in computer science my interviewer was impressed with haha......
I told her twice that I intend to get my BSN so hopefully that will count. But I don't want to get my hopes up because it would be such a huge disappointment since Cedars is the hospital I always wanted to work for.
But even if I don't get selected I was just happy to be there yesterday, the hospital and the people were amazing.
I will re-apply there after I have my 1 year experience!!!! One day I will work there :)
I'm in the same boat as you Dienne... no BSN here. I have an ADN and a bachelors degree in another fieldHopefully they will consider us anyway. Good luck!
Hi guys!
I interviewed yesterday @ 2:30 and I am just on here to see everyone's update and see how everyone felt about the interview. It was overall impressive, and I too, thought the interview went well. Cedars is my #1 choice! It's really a great hospital to work for. A friend of mine works there and loves it! Good luck to us all! :-)
Im in the same boat as well..my interviewer did not really make any comments or said anything about recommending me but I feel like i did quite well...we all just have to wait and see..what they told me was we would hear in a week and they were unsure about how many cohorts there will be and how many people will be selected for each one.
I wonder if it has something to do with the department were you interviewing for. Which department did you pick?
I was not asked about shock or a dosage calculation - wow! Interesting though because my interviewer definitely went off a sheet and made a statement that we were all being asked the "same questions". Perhaps the sheets varied by department?
I did not get a dosage calc or any heart failure. Got a scenario re: p/s pain control, conflict resolution with UP s and a few other process related questions. For the person who got a heart failure question -- was it a tag on to the Dig/Lasix ?s and do you mind sharing what area of interest you specified?
I got questioned on lasix, then digoxin... then scenario questions.. med errors and the five rights.. the other ones i forget. i was so nervous!
It said in the invitation email for the open house that you should be a licensed RN by July 5 so I'm thinking the residency should start somewhere around that date.

Me too. I did not get any comments really, just a thumbs up when I got the answer right. It was a strange way to interview, I think. I thought that to be fair you need to be interviewed by more than one person. Perhaps the open house was a way to screen people but they are mainly choosing us based on our portfolios? I don't know.
