Cedars-Sinai RN New Grad 2011

Published

Just wanted to know if anyone here got an e-mail invitation on Cedars-Sinai RN New Grad Program. I had my phone interview with them on December 29th. I received my e-mail today inviting me to the hiring event Open House for the Program on January 19th. I'm soooo nervous. It's been almost a year since I graduated and I finally got my first in-person interview! It's been so hard on all of us graduates! Let's hope for the best! :D

I got questioned on lasix, then digoxin... then scenario questions.. med errors and the five rights.. the other ones i forget. i was so nervous!

It said in the invitation email for the open house that you should be a licensed RN by July 5 so I'm thinking the residency should start somewhere around that date.

Really? My email invitation said by July 1st. Not sure if that really even makes a difference. But I'm hoping it is July 5th.

They asked me the same questions as well. I liked the woman interviewing me, and I felt that the overall experience was rather pleasant. I kind of hope they don't choose people based on the area of interest, because I certainly didn't put Med/Surg (even though that's what I prefer the most). I just figured that if we were all starting out on Med/Surg, they wanted to see us put something else down. However, now i'm thinking I should have put med/surg anyway. Oh well. Best of luck to everyone who interviewed!

I was not asked about heart failure nor given a drug calc either... I was asked however about same other drugs & dilaudid a few behavioral Qs, customer service and our essay topic...

My email states that we must be licensed by or on July 1st...

Hi usRNs,

What did your interviewer ask about your essay? Did he/she read it? before your interview. Mine did.

She just asked again why did I wanted to become a nurse I did not see her looking at my essay though she just flipped & glanced at my CV... I felt like she did not pay much attention to the portfolio... She didn't even notice my RN license till I pointed it out... She was very, very pleasant though & complemented me on several answers still I'm not sure how I did ... It def felt better than my phone interview but not sure if I did good enough...

yeah my interviewer did pretty much the same thing as yours.

My interview at Cedars was a great experience :) My interviewer gave me all "5"s on my questions (I know this because he showed me lol), and told me that if he was the one making the decision, he would hire me right on the spot. However, Cedars is really far from my house..

So we'll probably know by the end of June whether or not we were chosen? Is that what we figured out?
