Hey everyone!
Just thought we could start a thread for those of us who interviewed for Cedars-Sinai's new grad program this past week.
Hi all! I am a newbie who has been following this thread since it started. Just decided to jump in.
I interviewed June 9th and I'm starting to lose hope about recieving a phone call. When I interviewed I was not licensed but I had a date. (By the way I studied for two weeks and passed with 75 questions!!) I too only have an AA and my GPA is lower than 3.5 (mainly due to GE's that I took when I was really young, my nursing GPA is higher). But I did mention to the interviewer that I am starting an RN-BSN program in July and she seemed interested in that and took some notes. My interview went well, although I got a little nervous at one point. My portfolio was failry strong too.
I live about 30 mins away, with no traffic, so the commute is not so awful and I would not be relocating
I called HR yesterday and was told we would get some response between now and two weeks. They said they are randomly calling people who were selected and that they may have up to 200 openings depending on what he managers decide.
I don't know what to believe anymore, there is just so many different info being told. I just hope I get a phone call!
Congrats to all who were selected, and good luck to us waiting!
"socalgirlRN".. thank you for the info.. at least they randomly call people.. that makes me feel better.. i also has AA ... will be taking the NCLEX on July 14.. wish me luck.. :nuke:
up to 200 definitely makes me feel better.. hopefully they will be hiring AA also.. cause so far i only see BSN and MSN..
good luck to you and me and everyone else that still waiting..
jasminerain-Good luck on your NCLEX! You can do it!
chica86123-I was hoping they WERE calling in alphabetical order because that would explain why I haven't recieved a call yet. Now I know that I probably just wasn't selected!
But really, we don't know for sure until we get a response of course.
I just found out that 3 more of my classmates were offered positions. All with excellent GPA's, MSNs. That is a total of 6 students from my MEPN program. There were 28 in my class.
I continue to wish you all good luck in your job search. I can only imagine how nerve racking this must be for all of you.

Thanks for all the congratulations! :loveya:
No official offer letter, just a call. HR said they would send some info regarding orientation and a study guide. My gpa was 3.7, I have an MSN and I already took the boards. I thought the interview went pretty well, but w/so much competition you can never really tell. I felt comfortable, but I know I didn't answer every question perfectly. I thought my portfolio was nice, but I don't know how that compared to everyone elses.
Sorry, I don't have any suggestions for housing either. I think I may end up commuting bcuz it's just too expensive. If ne one finds ne thing reasonable, please let me know also!
