Hey everyone!

Just thought we could start a thread for those of us who interviewed for Cedars-Sinai's new grad program this past week.

Specializes in Telemetry, EKG interpretation, ICU/CCU.

my interviewer didn't score me until i left. is 5 the highest number?

Good thread! Had my interview today. I didn't get scored either until I left. I had no idea that they were really focused on the GPA. Apparently 3.5 was the minimum GPA according to the flyer they handed out there. Anyone know if they will hire you if your GPA is lower than that? If they don't accept new grads with

I am wondering the exact same thing. If they were so specific about all the portfolio documents, then why was there no mention of GPA requirements. I think it is ridiculous.

I wish they would have mentioned it on their open house flyer that 3.5 was the minimum. This would have saved me all that trouble getting those required paperwork. But Im hoping that they didnt mention the gpa requirement because they are considering new grads who dont have that requirement. Im thinking we will only serve as a backup in case they cant find enough 3.5 gpa applicants. They told me 2 weeks, I should receive a letter.

I didn't hear about the minimum 3.5 GPA until after the interviewer.

I have to say that my interview experience was good, regardless of whether I get the job or not. The interviewer was really nice and she made me feel comfortable, even during the times when I was obviously nervous. I didn't pay attention to the scoring at all. However, I noticed her writing comments for some of the answers I gave, and no comments for a few others.

And just wondering if anyone here was interviewed on June 4 and if they've heard anything yet. Good luck to everyone who was interviewed.

Specializes in acute care then Home health.

Hi, I started the new grad program in March and I have a few days left of training. There was a GPA min requirement but I cant remember if it was 3.5 or 3.0. I had a 3.6 and was accepted with an ADN. However, I think they prefer BSN candidates. Also, our group has some entry level MSN nurses. Good luck. When is your program supposed to start??

thanks for the information :) the handout given to us says "mid july through august hiring". i didn't get a chance to read the handout prior to my interview nor ask about the program's timeline... oh well

so, how has training been for you? at this point do you still go through the "rotation" or are you already in a home unit? thanks again!

One of the HR reps did say that she will open all official transcripts and will verify GPAs... not sure if that clarifies any of the GPA confusion, but it does seem as if they check. Whether they care if it's a 3.2 or 3.5, I'm not sure!

As for waiting two weeks for a letter, my interviewer specifically told me to call if I don't hear within a week; I am planning to call Friday (I interviewed 6/4) if they don't contact me first, and I'll let y'all know what they say (if I am able to talk to anyone at all!).

:nurse: Like Frisco09 and Calbear06, I also had my interview on June 4th, 2009 with Cedars in the afternoon.

Well, I reached half an hour before and as soon as I entered, somebody checked my name, my portfolio and within 5 min I was sitting infront of an interviewer. My interview lasted for almost around hour and I was asked all kind of questions from scenario based, medications and psychosocial etc.

My interviewer had list of Questions and she was grading on scale of I-5 and she kept marking me after every question. I did not care what she was marking because I was thoroughly enjoying my interview and answered all questions to my best ability. My experience was good one and the interviewers are very helpful and good to talk to.

After my interview, I just took a water bottle from their snack table and left as I also had to drive 60 miles back home.

Are we suppose to call them about my results or they will call us or send letter. Please, can anybody advise me on this.

I am thankful that somebody started this thread:)

I also had my interview on June 4th. They said someone would contact me in about a week..and it's been a longgg week! Hopefully I'll hear from someone by tomorrow. I did not get to see my score either since I was trying to focus on the interview. That 3.5 gpa criteria also surprised me. I didnt even find out until I read the flyer after the interview. I wonder if they pay more attention to your gpa or your degree. Does anyone know if waiting a week vs. two weeks is indicative of how well you did?

Specializes in ICU, Renal dialysis.

i was told id get a call by the 19th if accepted or a letter if rejected... and there were 50 spots available with 1700 being interviewed:/
