Cdn "journalist" blames Nurses for covid spikes

Published

According to Siri Agrell, apparently, nurses and pubic health experts failed to post 'enough' signs for the university educated and privileged classes. Feel free to let this moron know how you feel about her "opinions". FYI - she has ZERO frontline experience and ZERO knowledge about what's actually going on about COVID-19. #Privledge

There certainly has been a lack of clear guidance and education from the CDC and NIH. Conflicted messaging is the sauce of the day.

Not for physical distancing. the concept of keeping 2 meters apart is pretty freaking crystal CLEAR and easily achievable for people of privledge. This witch (aka Siri Agrell) s trying to make a case and excuses for the privileged (mainly the white 1%) set of the population, who have access to education, internet, technology, shelter.... there's no excuses for piling bodies on top of each other sipping cocktails while people are still LITERALLY dying. Conveniently laying blame to the frontline for "lack of communication"... the frontline is majorly made up of people of color.

Here our governor, mayor, and the physician who heads the local health department have preempted TV and radio shows almost every day since early March. Every day they all remind people that wearing a mask protects others and others wearing masks helps decrease the likelihood of unknowingly infecting others.

We get mailings at least twice a month and almost daily emails from our member of congress and our city councilman. Every week our county supervisor emails about what the supervisors are working on as well as how to access services, advice, and such.

EXACTLY! At this point there is ZERO excuse.

This "journalist" Siri Agrell thinks these thousands of (majority Caucasian) kids should get a pass because kids will be kids although these kids are in their 20s, come from enough privilege to know better (ex. don't have literacy issues), and are clearly comfortable endangering the lives of others. I think the truth of this is to Siri Agrell is that the only lives that matter are white ones. She's a sick, sick person.

Same thing happening: Daily TV broadcasts Governor, Philly mayor, county health dept. Emails WEEKLY from state senator as up for election.

Really, apart from curing people of their own self-centeredness... all we could do is strap people to chairs and start yelling at them. What other responsibilities should nurses/health officials be charged with? This person is just making excuses for not holding a certain population of people accountable.

I'm getting really tired of people like this airhead "journalist" who have ZERO frontline/healthcare/medical/nursing experience telling us how we should be doing better for all of societies failures. I'm also done with people like her making excuses for people of privilege. She wrote a book about being a bridesmaid yet feels she has enough expertise into how public health works to tell us how to do our job. She should stick to her pulp writing and leave health policy to people with healthcare backgrounds.

If we're to be held accountable for the stupidity and recklessness of societies' 1%, Siri the human potatohead should be held accountable for her comments. Her education is as follows, LOL:

These are just a couple examples of signs erected by the city. We've also put up barricades with larger freestanding signs in some areas. Public Health nurses are run off their feet from exhaustion. If university educated, literate people choose to not read these signs... I will happily lecture everyone and anyone I please.

Regional swaths of the USA are mired in political double speak about mitigation needs and efforts. Roughly 70% of states have significantly cut state public health programming for over more than a decade. We have chaotic federal leadership on the subject. It's a terrible time to have bad political leadership.

Do you have anything other than the included tweet to base any of this on?
