2014 CCP Nursing Program

Published

I figured I would start this topic to lower my anxiety just a little. I took the health allied test today and I have to wait till next week to get my scores. I really feel like im on pins and needles right now and I know I'll be a nervous wreck when I actually wait for my acceptance. Before I even got started on my journey to be a nurse I came across this website and It really answered a lot of questions about the application process, and was insightful in other areas of nursing that enabled me to think of more questions for answering. what I really love the most was that in previous years ccp applicants supported each other during the nerve wrecking waiting period on getting accepted. that support was so tremendous that a lot of the applicants bonded and became friends. Is there anyone else that has applied for the 2014 CCP program?

Thanks a lot Lecquar !!! I took the TEAS Test Already And I did quite well.. I can only wish for the same here !!

hello and Congrats to the few that got in. And to most of us that are waiting, I can say in previous years most of acceptance letters are sent out in February after everyone has taken their AHT. I'm almost certain i'll be accepted with 8 points i'm just waiting on that acceptance letter to confirm. For the rest of you taking the allied test, I can tell you that it's different then any other test you take. although it's not a test you can study for, it would be a great idea to review. those seconds of thinking " I think I remember how to do this" are crucial. I reviewed my math out of a book called cliffnotes algebra 1 it went over fundamentals of algebra which is basic arithmetic. although it may not be beneficial to some, it may be the difference of another precious point in the point system. As for the reading and grammar potion, start practicing reading fast. but I wouldn't read so much the day of. And the biggest advice I have is to bring a watch and give yourself a few minutes to finish up and take good guesses before they say stop, because they don't warn you how much time you have left. And just because you don't hear about people not passing doesn't mean there isn't. I don't want to scare anyone but I want you to be aware of your time management that makes this easy test hard. Good luck everyone and i'm looking forward to sharing in the excitement of everyone being accepted in the coming months.

hello and congratz to everyone that got in. I just got my acceptance letter yesterday and I'm so happy cuz I wasn't sure if I would get in. I went to the first info session and took my AHT on nov 9 and scored a 15. I've taken all the courses except micro n diet which I'm taking this semester. Good luck to everyone waiting for their letters.

Congratulation! I, too, will take micro this semester. I can't wait for Orientation day. see you then!

Just got back from being out of town for 2 weeks and got my acceptance letter!! I am so shocked and so happy because I was certain I'd have to wait until March or even April. I only had 6 points and my advisor said that it was unlikely I would get in. I did attend the 1st seminar, sent in my application the same day, and took all my pre-reqs so that was probably what saved me. Good luck to everyone! See ya in the fall!

I took my AHT on nov 25 and I have 8 points. thanks for sharing.

U should receive ur letter probably end of January. I was told at the info session that if u took the test n put ur app in by the end of November which was the priority deadline, u would receive a letter by the end of January.

i have MT and TH

[COLOR=#003366]BlackmaleRN, I wouldn't sweat it! It might have just been too late for early submission, which I thought was at the beginning of November. I could be wrong though. Keep us updated!

Thanks dotrulez and anyenydia, I really think they have been accepting the applicants that already had the prereqs done before fall 2013. I took my last prereq which was bio 106 in the fall. I will definitely keep you posted. along with all my friends on facebook and instagram, lol. Right now i'm just trying to keep my mind occupied with this challenging a&p 1 course it's just the beginning and i'm so overwhelmed. But there is no way i'm letting my kids down. NO WAY!!!

I agree BlackmaleRN. Those who have had all prereqs completed are hearing first. I was also completing my last prereq this Fall (Chemistry). A&P 1 is definitely challenging but you can do it. Make use of the learning tools that come with the book, such as the cd, and pre and post chapter quizzes they are extremely useful. Utilize Youtube as it is really helpful in visualizing many of the cellular and neurological functions. There are also many online tools to assist in the muscle and skeletal portions. I used these often in preparing for my lab final in reference to labeling muscles and bones. I know you can do it:up:!! I am already prepping for the AP2 course that I am going to take in the summer. Therefore if I am accepted I will only have the Nursing courses to stress over :)!!! Wishing you the best this semester!!
