2014 CCP Nursing Program

U.S.A. Pennsylvania

I figured I would start this topic to lower my anxiety just a little. I took the health allied test today and I have to wait till next week to get my scores. I really feel like im on pins and needles right now and I know I'll be a nervous wreck when I actually wait for my acceptance. Before I even got started on my journey to be a nurse I came across this website and It really answered a lot of questions about the application process, and was insightful in other areas of nursing that enabled me to think of more questions for answering. what I really love the most was that in previous years ccp applicants supported each other during the nerve wrecking waiting period on getting accepted. that support was so tremendous that a lot of the applicants bonded and became friends. Is there anyone else that has applied for the 2014 CCP program?

I agree BlackmaleRN. Those who have had all prereqs completed are hearing first. I was also completing my last prereq this Fall (Chemistry). A&P 1 is definitely challenging but you can do it. Make use of the learning tools that come with the book, such as the cd, and pre and post chapter quizzes they are extremely useful. Utilize Youtube as it is really helpful in visualizing many of the cellular and neurological functions. There are also many online tools to assist in the muscle and skeletal portions. I used these often in preparing for my lab final in reference to labeling muscles and bones. I know you can do it:up:!! I am already prepping for the AP2 course that I am going to take in the summer. Therefore if I am accepted I will only have the Nursing courses to stress over :)!!! Wishing you the best this semester!!

thanks bossyrobi, hopefully I become more confident as the semester continues because it does feel overwhelming right now. i'm just trying to relax, do my best and take it one theory at a time.

On a side note there is a app for iphones and androids that's called studyblue that everyone here should check out. it's amazing

Yes BlackmaleRN I love Studyblue. That is how I started prepping for AP2 and microbiology as well. I would also recommend that students take advantage of this useful tool.

Thanks for the introduction to Studyblue, I am loving it so far. I was making flashcards but this is saving my hands from all the writing since I can dictate to my phone. BlackmaleRN, have you checked your myccp, that changed way before I got my letter.

Yes, I check it every morning before class and every night before I go to sleep. it's just extremely hard to predict when this letter is coming because of the new priority seating they're doing this year. Plus, people are still taking the AHT, there's a girl in my a&p class that's taking it the end of February.

Well, they said that March is the deadline for AHT and April is when they give out letters for those who took it at a later date. Then, on May, there will be an Orientation day for all accepted students. This is when we receive our packets to fill up/complete and uniforms....etc...etc.

I can't wait to wear scrubs....I never wore one...so excited :)

I just wish I can pass through Micro and Dev. Psych this semester.

Hi Everyone,

I am so overjoyed. I checked my profile at 6:30PM this evening and it changed to Nursing for 2014. I am so happy. BlackmaleRN have you checked yours yet? You took your AHT before me so it may have changed for you too by now. I can't wait to meet everyone. Ok back to my regularly scheduled programming of conquering micro this semester and A&P2 this summer.

congrats bossyrobi, I almost dropped the laptop off my lap. yes mine has changed as well, but funny thing is my class was cancelled today so I thought I would stop and talk to a allied health adviser to see what was going on. after going no where with the lady I left, and a hour later I got a call from the admission dept stating that they was notified that I was concerned about my acceptance and they happen to be going over my acceptance packet at the time and wanted to reassure me that I was accepted. so I kind of got a hint before it happened. i'm happy but that letter will put me thru the roof. anyway, they suggested I take a&p2 and micro in the summer. is that possible? also why is everyone talking about psych? it's not a pre req right? I didn't plan on taking it. I feel so pressured already. I have to calm down.

BlackMaleRN it is possible to take micro and AP2 in the summer. You could do one in summer 1 and the other in summer 2. Psych is not a prereq but it is a part of the nursing curriculum for most BSN programs. Most of us will probably pursue that next and therefore many are knocking it out now. I have taken psyh 101 and developmental psych as well.

thanks bossrobi, I meant the challenging aspect of taking those classes in the summer. (I doubt myself a lot). I guess I have to just man up and get it done.

If you only take one class each summer session it is doable. Keep in mind you will be in class almost 5 days a week but I know you can do it. I am taking AP2 in the summer as well.

Congratulations to the both of you.

Thank you Leuqcar!!
