2014 CCP Nursing Program

U.S.A. Pennsylvania

I figured I would start this topic to lower my anxiety just a little. I took the health allied test today and I have to wait till next week to get my scores. I really feel like im on pins and needles right now and I know I'll be a nervous wreck when I actually wait for my acceptance. Before I even got started on my journey to be a nurse I came across this website and It really answered a lot of questions about the application process, and was insightful in other areas of nursing that enabled me to think of more questions for answering. what I really love the most was that in previous years ccp applicants supported each other during the nerve wrecking waiting period on getting accepted. that support was so tremendous that a lot of the applicants bonded and became friends. Is there anyone else that has applied for the 2014 CCP program?

First of, she can take AP 1 again. This can help bring her GPA and get a better grade in AP. I met someone, who took the AHT with me, and he told me that he got a C in AP 1 and that brought his GPA down. He retook the class and got an A. The C will be written off since his A is higher grade than his previous.

Second, because she dropped a class, there will be 1 point off from the Nursing grading system. Remember, Nursing acceptance is based on grading point system (GPA, No Class Withdrawals - Grade D or F, and AHT score). The accept 9's, 8's, and some 7's. You should have let her finish Math 118. When I applied to CCP (after highschool), I signed up for Math 118 because I thought it was required for Nursing and it was. However, it is only required for those students whose Math courses are more than 10 years. I found that out in the middle of the semester. Regardless, I still ended up finishing the class without withdrawing. This was also the same for Chem 110, which I did not need, but took it anyway. Suffice to say, I did not have to take Math 118 and Chem 110, but because I already signed up for it and was already taking the class, I cannot drop it because again - the grading point system.

Lastly, the AHT was easy but the time is the problem. Like your daughter, I also did not finish the test. I missed to answer about 17 questions. I was very upset. However, when I received my score I got a 17.8 (round to 18). This score is low because the test grade can go up to 30. But, because I made it above the minimum of 15, I get 2 points.

This is the Grading Point System.

9 points total:

GPA:

4 points: 3.5 or above

3 points: 3.4-3.0

2 points: 2.99 -2.75

Entrance exam:

21+: 3 points

18-20: 2

15-17:1

No withdrawal D or F: 2 points

1 withdrawals D or F: 1 point

multiple withdrawal D or F: 0 points

Your daughter can still bring her GPA up. She still has several classes to take, so if she does well she can bring it up to at least 3.5 GPA. This will give her 4 points. Tell your daughter not to get discourage and to relax. :D There is still time for improvement. FIGHTING!! (She can do it!) ----> This actually happened to me last semester when I took AP 2. We get 4 test and 2 lab. First 2 tests were around 70's score. I told myself if this keeps up I will get a grade of a C. Therefore, I studied very hard (reading the notes--recording lectures--watching Youtube for better explanation

I'm taking them early morning, leuqcar. how many points do you have? congrats losrojaa19. I can't wait to see that letter in my mailbox. we should hear about more people as the waiting intensifies. they send out most of the acceptance letters in the end of February.

You dont have to wait for the letter. I found out through MyDegree Path. After finding out 3 days later, the letter arrived.

thank u so much for your advice in reality she really only need diet and micro do u suggest she take diet in the summer it is so hard for me to find your response to my questions.I am new at this i do not know how to find out if anyone responded to me. now she is thinking about jefferson but it is so expensive and if she do not have to take loans out i think that is the way to go. at present she don't owe anything we just paid out of pocket. And again thanks so much and good luck in nursing school

Diet is an easy class for me. I took it in the Spring but is is very doable in the summer. The only thing about Diet is that it requires you to do some research and tracking to food intake and such. I am also paying out of pocket right now for college because I do not want to have loans. Luckily, CCP provides tuition monthly payment plan. Jefferson is very nice school. However, it is very expensive indeed. Many classmates of mine had applied to other schools such as Aria, Abington, and Roxborough nursing schools. My second school choice was Aria because of the short distance from my home and also the cost is almost the same as CCP (Aria is a little more expensive, but affordable).

Its nice to see the next class coming in. I just finished my first semester. Some of you will have wake up calls. So my suggestion is get all your partying and fun out of your system and get a job working in some form of health care. Cause trust me it helps. Fundamentals is no joke. We started with 120 and we're at 109 going into our second semester. I wish you all the best of luck. I remember stressing over when we would get our admission letters. Good times...
