  1. Has anyone started shopping for supplies? I am stressed on what kind of stethoscope to buy... they recommended a MDF but there are so many kinds and I keep hearing Littmann is better. What have you guys decided on and what other supplies are you buying to make it through the nursing program? Also, if anyone has any down time... this website coursera.com offers free online courses through major universities and is having a free clinical terminology course taught through the University of Pittsburgh if you guys want to get a leg up. It's pretty basic this week...
  2. I am also working full time. I always had a part time job while going to school full time the past semesters and I was taking 2 science classes plus English and a social science. It was hard but I still made good grades. I'm just wondering if the work load is going to be more or less with Nursing considering it's only 7 credit and technically half time. I'm a little nervous but I need my job to be able to pay for all the expenses.
  3. Thank you! How do I provide proof though? Should I get a doctors note with the official letter-head?
  4. Hey everyone, it's been awhile since I've checked in. I see most of you have started (or are almost finished!) with the immunizations and everything. I'm a little worried because I couldn't make it to the orientation on May 6th (I'm going to an alternate orientation on June 23rd) and I feel really behind on getting my stuff completed. I don't have the info on what exactly to get done so I don't wanna guess at it, but do you guys recommend anything I should be starting now, or a list of some sort? I have all my background checks done and am registered for CPR training already. Anything else you guys think I should know would be very helpful :)
  5. I have not done anything yet either. I felt like I should wait for orientation so I know exactly what they want but I am also kind of clueless on what to expect Does anyone have some insight from current nursing students on what exactly is needed and when we should get started? I'm a full time student, work almost full-time, and haven't had a day off since winter break so I was hoping I could squeeze these things into the summer.

  7. Professor ****** is amazing! I would definitely recommend her. I have ******* now and he's really great as a professor but your grade is only based on 7 exams which I don't like.
  8. What was your total point score out of the 9 point scoring system? The AHT is only one deciding factor.
  9. [COLOR=#003366]BlackmaleRN, I wouldn't sweat it! It might have just been too late for early submission, which I thought was at the beginning of November. I could be wrong though. Keep us updated!
  10. Just got back from being out of town for 2 weeks and got my acceptance letter!! I am so shocked and so happy because I was certain I'd have to wait until March or even April. I only had 6 points and my advisor said that it was unlikely I would get in. I did attend the 1st seminar, sent in my application the same day, and took all my pre-reqs so that was probably what saved me. Good luck to everyone! See ya in the fall!
