  1. Congratulations to the both of you. I was in the program for the fall 2014 semester and did not pass to this semester. Its a very tough program and my best recommendation is to start reading as soon as they give you the test book list because there are a lot of pages to read and it does you no good not to read them. I reapplied to the program because I made it all the way to the end of the semester and I didn't pass because I had a fire at my house the week before finals and was under a lot of stress. You need to maintain a 72 average on the four exams (unless they up the grade for fall 2015). I ended up getting a 70 because I didn't get the grade I needed on the final. There are no exceptions they will fail you but I was able to an excused withdrawal to get rid of the F. I just took my allied health test again on March 11. I'm hoping to back in the program I enjoyed it and everything I learned. Many people I know had mixed feelings and there were a lot of people that dropped out when I was in it. But if you work really hard and study you can make it through. Once you get accepted and pay your $50 deposit, you will get a packet in the mail around April telling you when the orientation date is and about getting your criminal background check, child abuse clearance, drug test, CPR certification and immunization and titer check. The orientation date is in the beginning of May and you will also get a chance to try on the uniforms and order them that same day. If you have any questions feel free to ask me and hopefully I will see you in September.
  2. We're in the CBI building 18th n callowhill room C2-28
  3. Only my pants n jacket had the patch. My shirts have embroidery on them. I only bought one recommended book because I didn't have enough money to get more.
  4. I decided not to take notes because I would feel like everything is important so I've just been reading. I have to take cat naps just to get through the fundamental book
  5. Yes my sneakers are all white i found them on amazon for about $45
  6. Congratulations to everyone. I start on September 2. I got accepted to my program January so I've been waiting awhile im so excited n anxious to start. Good luck to everyone! :)
  7. I want to be a nurse because I have always wanted to do something in healthcare. When I was 8 my mom had a couple of surgeries and I enjoyed nursing her back to health when she got out the hospital. I would go to our local CVS and pick up her medicine and anything else she needed. It felt great to help her in her time of need since we were all each other had and every since than I wanted to help and care for other people.
  8. I think I'm even more excited to start nursing school in a couple weeks than I was to start kindergarten. I think its because I'm positively sure I want to be a nurse. When I was younger I wanted to be so many things and most of them involved health care or art but now I know exactly what I want and that's to be an RN.
  9. I just started reading yesterday, it was the first time I didn't fall asleep in a textbook.
  10. Ok, that's good because we have a lot of chapters to read in that book for the first week. Have you started reading yet?
  11. Hi bossyrobi, I got all the required books except for the pharmacology book because they were all out when I went on the 18th but i will be going back on the 25th to check because I also have to purchase my spanish book. Those books were really heavy.
  12. I start in 3 weeks and I'm very excited. I've been working out, spending time with my daughter and trying to relax. I wish I was able to purchase my books ahead of time so that I could start reading them but financially I wasn't able to, so I will be getting them a week before school starts. These last 3 weeks I will be cleaning my apartment and getting organized.
  13. I was so happy to order my uniform and try it on for school a few months ago but I'm not happy that we have to wear white polo shirts but at least the pants are scrubs.
  14. I will be starting ASN program next month at 22 and graduating at 24. I will have my BSN when I'm 25
  15. I have all my supplies except for books. I'm waiting for bookstore credit because I don't work, so i need it to pay for my books. I also still need to purchase the liability insurance and just patiently wait for the semester to start I'm so excited and anxious. Also is anyone still waiting for pheaa money from the spring semester? I've talked to financial aid in May and they said it would take 2 months, i never had to wait this long before.
