CCBC, Fall 2011 Applicants =)

U.S.A. Maryland

Hello Everyone,

Here we go again! This is my second time applying to CCBC's nursing program. I look forward to chatting with everyone as we wait for the GOOD news! I believe things happen for a reason! I have good faith that Fall 2011 is going to be my turn for acceptance. I guess we will see if I am right.

For anyone who was not accepted this Spring, we can be a great support system for each other :).

GOOD LUCK!!!

Ab1967...A PPD is the test for TB. Just an FYI.

I am too excited for school now. Ready to put my life on hold for the next two and really shine. I have already paid for my background check, getting my drug test on Monday, paid my seat fee and registered for Dosage. I did CPR last summer, so I'm good there and I have health insurance. I am going to school on Monday to get my physical form and lab form for titers. I hope I will be finished all this crap before the first orientation.

Onward and upward!

Hi everyone! Congratulations to all of you who got accepted! I on the other hand got put on a wait list for the day program in Essex. I really don't understand how on earth this selection process works-like really! I guess the reason I got put on the wait list is because I didn't have all my credits. I was doing Micro and A&P 2 this spring. Still haven't got my grades, but I know I did well in both!

Punkyb I saw your excellent grades and I can't believe you got rejected! I have similar grades with B's in Speech and A&P 1, the rest A's. Thats beyond crazy.

All of you who got rejected or put on the wait list do not get discouraged. Keep holding your head up and never give up! Also look for other programs to apply to. CCBC should not be the only option!!!! This summer I'm planning on taking more classes, so I can have more options for spring! Best of luck to you all.

Gaelros, how do you know where/how to get the background check and drug test done? I am a planner, and would love to get all of this out of the way, but I don't think they gave us enough information to take care of it before orientation. Also, where on campus do you go to pick up the physical form? Any information you can provide is greatly appreciated!

I googled PreCheck and took care of it on their site. You would register for the background and drug screening for nursing students. You have to select your school, etc. It was easy, the cost was 94.50. I am going to go for my drug test tomorrow. You cannot use Mac on the site you have to have IE or Mozilla. I had to call to register for the drug test. It was super easy and the people at PreCheck were very helpful.

I am going to the SHP tomorrow to get the form for my physical and get that taken care of ASAP.

I, to, am a planner and waiting until orientation is just too long. I'll let you know about the physical forms when I go there tomorrow.

I was going to wait until the orientation to get this taken care of but maybe ill look into doing some of it now. So we actually have 3 orientations I noticed; the 2 for nursing and then the one for the shp new students. That is a lot! I want to get this all done asap so I can enjoy the rest of my summer before school starts and life gets crazy!

I did not apply to the nursing program ever, however, many of you are in my class and I feel the need to bestow blessing upon others when they are bestowed upon me.......MR. DOUG MEISE (ONE OF THE BEST SCIENCE TEACHERS EVER) HAS ADDED A A&P II TO HIS CLASSES FOR THE SUMMER!!! :yeah::redpinkhe:yawn::up::hug::yelclap::cheers::rotfl::clpty::anpom::rckn::hpygrp::dncgbby:

:dancgrp:

For anyone who has talken this class you will know why this is such a blessing. I took him for Micro and learned (and retained) so much!! Anybody planning on taking A&P II, Micro (which he is also teaching this summer) should definitely take him!! He comes highly recommended and takes a genuine interest in him students, their grades, and their passing. He is also very flexible, reasonable and accommodating!! *stepping off the soap box*

WITH THAT BEING SAID, CONGRATS TO EVERYONE THAT GOT ACCEPTED AND KEEP YOUR HEADS UP TO EVERYONE THAT DIDN'T....WE MIGHT NOT KNOW THE TIME OR RATIONALE.....BUT EVERYTHING HAPPENS FOR A REASON!!

Good Morning All,

I received my reject letter on Friday as well. They sure know how to ruin a weekend (good thing we all got to see the news on our Simon account on Friday 13th). Anyway, I think that their selection process is the pits. I also believe that they will seat a lot of people from the waitlist because so many people applied to more than one school and received letters at least a month ago. I know 1 person who was accepted in BCCC and 1 person who was accepted into Howard Community College. CCBC does not have to take that long to determine who they are going to accept. Most other community colleges have been done their selection process quite a while ago. I think they may as well hold a lottery at this rate. And to all that recommend talking to Gwen Jones to see what you can do better next time, I believe is a waste of time, been there done that.

I have been preparing to better my grades and the TEAS and can only have a positive outlook on things at this point. Studentrn2be, I am glad you are so determined and I hope you keep this attitude. Corrine, I will c u at sutdy group. To all who have been accepted, CONGRATULATIONS AGAIN!:yeah::yeah::yeah:

I mean study group. LOL

Thank you robi!:) I have no choice but to move forward and stay positive. I have two small children that look up to me. I am leading by example to never give up and keep fighting harder to reach your goals. There is no doubt in my mind that I will become a nurse someday. Good luck to everyone who has been wait listed! I hope the wait isn't too long for you. To everyone that was rejected, good luck reapplying!

Studentrn2be,

If you are planning on taking the TEAS again, maybe you can join Corrine and myself trying to make a study group? I live near Essex Campus.

That would be great! Corrine and I live in Dundalk so we are all close. :) When and where are the two of you getting together?:heartbeat
