  1. I passed!!!
  2. AHHH my results are still not on the pearson site!
  3. Congratulations! I took mine on monday too, and am still waiting for the results. (did the pvt and got the good pop up but want to see the real results). Did you just log on to the pearson site to see them or did you get an email?
  4. Thank you all so much for your responses! I will def try and get a tech job in an er, if I can find one. Hopefully that will help. I'm just gonna do the best I can in school and clinicals and try to get my foot in the door somewhere. Ok, well, back to studying!
  5. Hi all, just a quick question. I'm in nursing school now, and I realize I have a few semesters to figure out what kind of unit I want to work in (and also realize when push comes to shove and it's time to get a job I might not have a choice), but I have been interested in the er lately.. I've been reading on here too and think it's a unit I'd really be interested in. I love the idea of seeing different things each shift. My question is can you be an RN in the er with an associates degree or is a bachelors necessary? Also, I have some healthcare experience (I was a medical assistant for 3 years), but was also planning on getting a job my second semester; which would help more, getting a cna job or getting an emt license/job? Just wondering which is more beneficial for the er. Any tips/input would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!
  6. I work in a pediatric office, and most of the vaccines are IM; but the MMR and Varicella are given sub-q. For kids around age 4 or under we usually do the thigh (vastus lateralis area.) It is easier to hold them still when they are laying down on an exam bed and we can hold their legs still with our thighs. I wouldn't worry about the placement of your injection, it sounds ok.
  7. All wHite; white collared scrub top and white pants with white shoes and white lab coat. Boring! And not very forgiving either.
  8. Mon and weds are lecture. There are lab groups on either mon tues or weds. And clinicals are thurs and Fridays.
  9. Mines not til next week, excited buy I think it's going to be a long day!
  10. I think they are looking for more than B's in the sciences. I would retake some of them and show that you can get A's in those pre-req's that they really take into consideration.
  11. I was going to wait until the orientation to get this taken care of but maybe ill look into doing some of it now. So we actually have 3 orientations I noticed; the 2 for nursing and then the one for the shp new students. That is a lot! I want to get this all done asap so I can enjoy the rest of my summer before school starts and life gets crazy!
  12. No letter for me today; anyone who gets theirs, when is orientation for Essex day?
  13. My friend got waitlisted and it showed up that way on her status next to decision, just an FYI.
  14. It's a lot but do-able. Just be disciplined in allowing enough time to study since you are working. I took chem, stats, and nutrition this semester and got through it. Good luck!
  15. Just my 2 cents, but I really believe being done all your pre-req classes helps in getting in. That being said, that does not guarantee you get int. They do look at gpa as well as teas score. I really think you need to be at least advanced on your teas to have a good shot in general. (obviously not everyone may have had advanced who got in, but if your gpa is middle of the road like 3.4-3.6 I think the higher your teas score is the better. Definitely retake classes you got C's in and try to make them A's. And if you didn't get in, don't give up. I know people who have gotten in off the waitlist before, and sometimes it just takes a couple of tries. Congrats to everyone who made it. I will see the rest of you essex day program admits in the fall!
