  1. How did this go for you? I have a tentative offer and I am losing my mind on how to write this up appropriately. any rects on how to assemble this document? Please and thank you!!
  2. I will start a FB page...I've named it GWU AGPCNP FALL 2016. See you on FB! Lauren
  3. Woo Hoo! That's fantastic news! Congrats! I live in Baltimore and am doing the part-time program. You?
  4. Hi Sweetkimchi. I completed my application by the deadline and got my acceptance back in just a few weeks. You might want to follow up or check your SPAM...fingers crossed for you.
  5. Good morning. I will be joining the Fall cohort for AGPCNP. I'm exited and nervous. I live just outside of Baltimore and would definitely be interested in chatting with anyone else attending. I've already paid my deposit and reserved a room for orientation in August. I look forward to hearing from anyone! My ADN class had (and still has) a private FB page. It's extremely helpful IMHO. Lauren
  6. Hi RNBSN9. I too have applied for July 2016 admission. I am looking at 3 schools. I am graduating CCN with my BSN in April so I am familiar and happy with CCN. I am curious about graduation stats...do you know anything? I live in Maryland so I will begin looking for clinical preceptors ASAP just to see what's out there.
  7. Hi thwilliams85. I also live in MD (White Marsh area) and have applied for July admission. I am looking at UMD DNP program and GWU as well. Did you have a problem finding clinical sites? I think that might be a deciding factor. I am graduating from CCN with my BSN in april. Thanks
  8. Do yo still have this excel program? I would love to see it. Also did you utilize any books outside of your required text? I am looking at some "dummy" type books for additional help. My class starts next week and it looks like I'll be having back surgery during the semester so I am trying to get a "jump" on reading and implementing. I must graduate on time in April...Thanks! Lauren

  10. I am a recent (May 2013) grad of CCBC. I have to tell you honestly that the program is difficult in ways that it doesn't have to be. The majority of the classroom instructors are difficult to deal with and teach to their own knowledge not that of the real world of nursing. I found my clinical instructors were ok and challenged me regularly (in a good way). I hate to recommend this program to anyone BUT... I was completely and overly prepared for my NCLEX (I also took Hurst, which I really liked). I, as well as the majority of my class, passed in 75 questions. While I did tech for about 6 months, the clinical experience that I got at CCBC really prepared me to be on a unit. One of my clinical instructors helped me get an interview and I was hired within weeks of passing my boards. I don;t believe that any other program (BSN or ADN) gives you as much clinical experience as CCBC. I look back on my experience as a hazing and I think that the program can definitely be run better but you will be completely prepared for anything that comes your way. You just have to keep your head down and get through the two years. I graduated, passed my boards, got a great job that I love, and am already starting on my BSN in January. You can do it...just commit and don't look back!!
  11. I am about to graduate from the E/W program. Just a few weeks away. Hard to believe...anyway. I have books for sale if anyone is interested. I have the books you'll need for fundamentals (2 of them) along with the videos, the nursing diagnosis handbook, the fundamentals success book (critical thinking) and the dosage calculations book. Mine are in amazing condition with no marks. I'll sell them for $100 to the first person who wants them. I live in White Marsh. Let me know. I am posting them on Criagslist as well so when they go, they go. Good luck to you all.
  12. Nope, they won't do a block that high. Space is too narrow from the herniation and they are concerned about more damage.
  13. I have a Zuca that I love, love, love. I also have a herniated C5/6. I wish I had gotten the Zuca long ago!
  14. I am just beside myself right now...I have a badly herniated C5/6 that needs surgery. My right arm is numb and tingling, I am in a lot of pain, and ...oh yeah...I'm in my second to last semester in school. I should graduate (God willing) in May. I really need to have the surgery now - but the recovery is 4-6 weeks (realistically I will miss about 1-2 weeks of school; 4-6 of work). I am not sure how to approach my instructors and ask for some give with the clinical assignments. My fellow students will definitely help me with the notes and such. If I have to postpone the surgery until December, than that is what I'll have to do - but it will be excruciating. Any suggestions on how to approach my instructors? Thanks in advance! Lauren
  15. Congrats to everyone! Now the fun begins....hahahaha! Be careful what you wish for. This is going to be an incredibly challenging and immensely rewarding time for all of you. I just finished (last night) my first full year in the program. It actually goes by much quicker than you think. Again, be good to each other. Lauren
