Just wondering if anyone else on here has applied to CCAC for the spring 2011 semester?
I don't know if they do the lottery system at all the campuses. I know that when I registered today, she told us that mon/tues lab/lecture was set for us (I thought there was a choice, guess not?) and then we could pick our clinical date of either wed or sat since both still had spots open. Hospital site for evening program is going to be mercy and allegheny general, tentatively.
looking at the schedule on ccac central e-services, I see actually mon/tues are set for the evening program, because that is just how it is arranged. then you can pick to do clinicals on wed evening or sat am. she said the day before clinical, you are to go on your free time to the clinical site and get the information on your patient(s) so that you will be prepared the day of clinicals.
For those wondering what is in the NRN101 packet, it's a bunch of materials pertaining to drug calc type questions, info on what is expected of you as a nursing student, protocols for procedures like placing catheters, mixing insulins, giving injections, etc. It's piqued my curiosity, as it all looks kind of interesting.
It's available now, and it's like $5 or something.
I guess Calu is the only one doing the dosage calc class and giving us no idea when or where our clinicals are until the 14th. Yay btw does anyone know when ccac sends out grant refund checks? Have to buy books in the calu bookstore but I had to send my financial aid to ccac... The school mixture is a bit of a mess
i am also in cal's program and my financial aid is so screwed up! i had to like erase what i was already approved for and they cant guarantee ill be approved for enough to cover my school costs! were not even starting classes and im ready to pull my hair out!
and also the 14th is entirely to long to wait to see when clinical is i have a job that requires my school schedule 4 weeks before i start!
Don't get too excited, they told me when it shows up online or we get our bills it will dictate a day and time for clinicals but it's not correct. They apparently have to stick in a time when they post the class. They made it clear we won't know until the 14th of jan at the orientation What does the rest of your schedule look like?

Out of curiosity, when choosing your schedule from the lottery system does that apply to the entire year (NRN101 and NRN102) or just the first semester (NRN101)?
