CCAC Spring 2011

Just wondering if anyone else on here has applied to CCAC for the spring 2011 semester?

Featured Replies

I applied for the spring semester also...

It is generally about 3 months. I applied for Fall 10. Our applications were due early February and we got out letters in early May. It felt like forever!

A friend who applied for Spring 10 didn't find out until late November, early December.

Good luck!!

wow thats a really long time.. what campuses did u 2 select?

I applied to South and she applied to Boyce.

All of the applications are decided by the same group of people. Everyone, regardless of campus, gets their letter mailed out on the same date. Its an agonizing wait, lol!

I started ccac allegheny campus in spring 10. We were supposed to hear back from them by mid-october and we didn't hear anything til the end of november. I checked my mailbox 5x a day for two months!

Good-luck everybody!

Hi everyone! I also applied for spring 2011. I went back and read posts of people who applied last spring, and saw that everyone waited until mid november before they heard, so I am just assuming it will be that long.

I applied for Boyce Fast Track as my first choice and Allegheny day for the my second. I am really hopeful that I'll get in the fast track program, but I'd be elated to get accepted into either one. I still have to take A&P II and Microbiology. I am worried about scheduling since we might not find out anything until after priority registration.

thelastjanelle,

when i started nrn101 i didn't have my a&p2 n micro either. Idk about boyce, but at allegheny campus the bio department set aside a particular classes for nursing students that went around the nursing department's schedule. So, if you are having problems seeing any openings that coincide with your nursing schedule, just email the head of the biology dept. and they will let you know what is up. :)

Wow that is a long wait. I applied to Boyce Fast track for my 1st choice and Allegheny for my 2nd. I dont have my A&P or Micro either. I am also worried about the scheduling situation. I dont know if I should schedule or not. I just hate the waiting. Wait for the scores, wait for the letter, my mailman may think Im stalking him by time this is all over.. Good luck to everyone

Rquinz, thank you for the information, it makes me feel better. Are you in the day or evening program? I will have to see if my A&P I instructor knows about this or perhaps can find out from the bio department heads at boyce.

slivanj, sounds like we are in the same boat! Did you apply for Allegheny day or evening? I will post if I find out about special A&P classes at Boyce so you will know as well. As for the waiting, I was physically ill waiting for my PAX scores. I am trying not to get so worked up but I think as the semester wears on, the anxiety will to!

Does anyone have any idea of the average GPA/PAX scores for students admitted into the fast-track program?

Im not sure about the PAX scores for those admitted into the fast track program...but I have been hearing that new grads everywhere in Pittsburgh are unable to find jobs. Apparently 130 people applied for 1 job. With West Penn closing down and hospitals struggling...it seems kinda shakey. Maybe by the time we're done nursing school, the market will be less saturated?
