  1. Thank you for this post! I just finished patho this fall and purchased a quick review (all 600 pages of it) to read during my break, and I'm exhausted -_-. I'm terrified that I'm going to get into clinical and look bad because I don't know everything. My clinical courses start at the same time as my track specific (ACPNP) classes do so I feel like I need to know EVERYTHING beforehand. Clearly, I know I'm overreacting, but I can't help it.
  2. Yup, just with the testing system. The problem it poses is if you can't finish a test because you used a mac and the testing system didn't like it, you'ed be out of luck and not able to finish the test and take a hit. Of course there's all sorts of problems with it if you use a PC too because, well, it's awful programming, but they'll at least offer you assistance or let you retest if you had issues. They're up front about not using a mac but not until you get accepted.
  3. I'm in the ACPNP MSN program, DNP is optional, and not for me.
  4. Don't purchase a mac for this program, if you have one, get rid if it. The test's are pretty stressful as it is but people have had a lot of problems with the remote proctor they use and it not working very well with macs. The school does not offer any sympathy as they do not recommend mac's and offer very little support if you use one.
  5. I'll also be working full time night shift. I worked full time through my ASN and BSN, it was tough, but incredibly dooable.
  6. Because it doesn't look like they're giving anyone the condensed schedule, we all register for the same 2 classes. We don't branch out to our speciality until this time next year.
  7. You are correct, there was no mention of an advisor or what classes we should sign up for, just that we can access PAWs now and the steps for registering for classes (it just didn't say which ones).
  8. I got my letter last Saturday and I live in WV. The letter had our JAG numbers in them but we can't register until August 1rst regardless. I did e-mail them on the 14th to make sure they got my packet since I mailed it in so early and they did respond in time and tell me. If you call, the lady I spoke to said she has no way of knowing if you sent in your packet and you have to send them an e-mail. It's the congrad address from the website.
  9. I was reading some reviews on the one of the teachers we have to take for our classes this Fall, If I wasn't so OCD about my grades I'd care more, but one just made me laugh. "This professor grades very inconsistently and does not care about content. This is not English literature class but she grades it as if it is" "The psych patients you meet in clinical have a better grasp of reality than this woman." Challenge accepted :)
  10. Oh good, hopefully that means I'll see it soon, seem to be a few days behind everything :) Also, unless you're doing the condensed program, we're all in the same classes for the first year. We can keep using this forum for questions and help from each other.
  11. I talked to financial aide yesterday, it appears they're used to the NP programs doing everything late and everything should be taken care of in time. If anything, they can't send you a bill if you aren't signed up for classes and you can't sign up for them unless you have a JAG number.
  12. We only have to go the campus the semester before we start clinical, so if you're not doing the condensed program you'll have to go this time next year for a few days. I feel like the only one still waiting on my JAG number
  13. Just a form your doctor signs that said you've had a physical and are healthy enough to go to Np school.
  14. I just sent an email to the school. I wanted to change from PNP to PNP-AC. They said it wasn't a problem and mailed me a form, just need my JAG number to fill it out. Didn't think they'd let me, but it never hurts to try! I know they got a grant for their PNP-AC program because it's a needed profession, might be why, they may have extra seats.
  15. Aye, I've had my FAFSA done since February, still, nothing.
