hello everyone! so i already took the nclex twice and haven't passed it. i was an average student and graduated in summer 2008. i'm really embarrassed about failing twice because most people who graduated with me passed the first time and i don't want to sign up to take it again because i'm beyond scared to fail again, i'm really really down on myself! if anyone has any helpful hints on how to get prepared again let me know... i've been studying exam cram and saunders a lot.
my 2nd problem is that with the economy being the way it is i am still in retail and broke! i know i can't work as a graduated nurse since i already failed, but i can work as a cna since i graduated school right? i'm not sure but i thought that was the case. and if that's true does anyone know how i would go about getting a certificate for being a cna?
any answers would be fantastic! =)
thanks for your time!
Thanks.. I'm really going to look into Suzannes plan.. I think thats my best option and I need to get this over with already! Its so hard knowing most of the people I graduated with PASSED (Even ones who I never thought would.. I don't mean to sound mean).. and here I am... IT's soo embarressing! But I'm gonna try .. and make sure I pass next time!
Kozmo0812 I know it is hard to even look at the people that you went to nursing school with that passed the test and even the one's you thought would not pass the test, passed, I don't want to sound me about that either but it hurts inside that you should be where they are. When I seen one of my nursing buddies and they ask me where you working, I have to buck up and tell them that I did not pass the test. (It HURTS) really bad. But once I got passed of hating myself for not passing, I was able to talk about it and take the test again. I am starting Suzanne's plan and I think it is going to wonderful. I never quite used this type of tactic to study for the test. Well, keep your chin up, we are going to pass this Test with the help of Suzanne's Plan:nuke::nuke:
Just focus! I also am working full time and studying at the same time, failed twice and now I am back again to studying. I am working in the office because working as a CNA cannot really help you financially and at the end of the day your body is sore from all the assisting and ambulating and all you can do is sleep. I know it is hard but who cares on how many times you took the test, the important thing is the license. Just don't tell anyone that you are taking the exam so that they wouldn't bug you of your results. I am doing also Suzanne's plan. Gotta think POSITIVE and pray always. GOOD LUCK TO ALL OF US!
Hi L405 Can you try to get a home health care job? I just got one working as a CNA. I will officially start it this weekend. I am just working weekends and will be studying Suzanne's plan throughout the week and when I have time on the weekend's. I think HHC will be ok for me because it will be one on one with a patient and you get to be familar with that person and know their ways and don't have to go thru different attitudes all the time. Plus, being with a patient with help me keep my nursing skills up and learn how to Prioritize. I did work at a nursing home for a few mths but it was not for me, took a tole on my body!! At the beginning when I was taking my test, I would tell people at my job and they would constantly ask me have I taken the test? or when am I taking the test? or What did you get on your test? That did put stress on me when they did that. So I don't tell anymore!! Yep, got to keep praying and keep taking the test no more how many times it takes. We will finally make it
hi kozmo,
i too am in the same shoes as you but as others have said dont give up. when i was contemplating my next move and was so confussed and on the verge of giving up, i started browsing this site and there was one comment which really shook my core and remotivated me..... it said... the only time you fail is when you stop trying and give up.... he went on to explain that when you do pass your nclex and get your license, your hospital ID will read KOZMO, RN. thats it. it will not read, Kozmo, rn, passed on 3rd try.
i am also trying suzannes plan and periodically motivate myself by browing this site. good luck.....
I am working weekdays fulltime for my health benefits and my Sunday job as a CNA (1 on 1 with the patient). I applied as a CNA here in the US in the hospitals or the care homes/ facilities but they told me that I don't qualified because I don't have a certification though I know that we are over qualified. So I looked for a CNA job who required me to watch 1 patient only so that I dont have to look after 3-4 patients at the time.
I know there will be a time that we will all be proud of the sacrifices we have to go through in order to become a RN. (all the expenses and the frustrations)
Keep your heads up high and NEVER give up! We can make this! :)
That is a great saying Iamhopeful2009! I think I will use that motto when I get down again on this NCLEX test. Can't give up, have come to far!!! Your right no where on a license or Hospital ID will it say passed LPN or RN on 20th try. It has not been 20 tries you guys!! I am still in the single digits . I pray though that it will not be that many times before the NCLEX test realize that I am competent on being a nurse!! Keep your heads up!!

I am sorry. Please don't give up. I have failed 5 times and is in the process of doing suzanne's plan. I have taken review courses and spent countless amounts of money on books. I think suzanne's plan is going to work for me along with hard work and determination. Right now I am unemployed so I am taking the CNA exam so that I can get a job. I live in NC and you must take a written and skills exam. It will also get me back into things since I haven't done anything in nursing in over 8 years. I think you should get a job being a CNA until you pass the test. I know that the pay is horrible, but it will be worth it in the end. Good luck to you.
