i was granted court supervision for aggravated battery and didorderly conduct four years ago so therefore i have no convictions. the nursing school i apply to has to do a background check and i know that convictions can get you removed from the program but since its a background check i know they will see my arrests. they cant remove me for arrests right? simply because they say ONLY convictions can get you dismissed? and do background checks ehen u go pay for them and give them to the school will it show mugshots? im clueless what all background checks show. thanks

Convictions can get you dismissed, arrests can get you not considered for admission more than likely.
What about for licensure. Do you think arrests can prevent. Licensure even though you werent convicted i plan on expunging my arrest record

BON charged with protecting public; thusly gets to see expunged charges.

I would call your state BOH and see what they have to say about licensure.

At the very least expect questions for whatever shows up. The onus is on YOU to prove that your character and decision-making ability have improved to the point where the school, the board, and employers believe you've grown and learned and your potential outweighs the risks. There are many nurses out there who have been arrested, charged, and even convicted of many things. The important piece is what they do after to improve and fix themselves.

Getting accepted to a school shouldn't be your main concern. Being capable of getting licensed should be. Contact your BON first, then contact schools. No one here can accurately or reliably answer this question for you.
