If you assault someone and it's not work related can or will they pull your nursing license? For example, a husband cheats on his wife so his wife (who is a nurse) hunts down his girlfriend, throws a heavy chain through her windshield, drags her out by her hair and uses her face for a punching bag and (possibly) goes to jail over it.
Could she get in trouble with the BON over that?

Hmmmm. As usual, that sounds like something that would have to be specifically addressed by the BON in the State the person who assaulted the girlfriend lives in and/or where the assault took place. It would also depend upon if the assault was considered a felony, or misdemeanor.

It is a criminal act and yes, one could lose their license.
Hopefully the person will think twice before committing a criminal act.

It's my understanding that yes, a nurse can lose his/her license.
i'm so sorry for laughing.
it was my gutteral response to your subtle question.
and yes, if charges are pressed, you can and will lose your license.
personally?
i would have directed that anger towards the cheating bastard.

Since all NPA have a morality clause, yes you can likely lose your license. And you can be criminally prosecuted. Suggest you pack your bag and leave the country.:trout:

It's a criminal act - attacking the woman with a chain/glass breaking?-----so it could be something a nursing board could look into ---if it was a doctor, lawyer, police officer etc....I would think they would also be in trouble with their professional status if they acted in behaivor unbecoming.
This person better get a lawyer!

You can't get you license w/ an assault charge, so I am pretty sure they will revoke/cancel it if charged and found guilty.

Ditto.
The spouse is the one that betrayed her.
