Will BSN programs sometimes give you clinicals on weekends?

I don't know about BSN programs but I'm in a nights/weekends program so all my clinicals are Saturday/Sunday. I think it just depends in your program.

Yes, it depends on the college that you go to. I go to DeSales University through their access program and its an evening and weekend program. I think you just have to check out the colleges in your area.
I go to a day program at a university. I suppose I can call and ask.

Mine didn't but when I worked in a hospital that hosted clinicals for many of the schools nearby, there were some that did Saturday clinicals.

In the program that I'm starting in July, you can miss a total 5 clinicals during the whole 2 year program, but ONLY if you make them up during the weekends (instead of a 6 hour clinical day, it's a 12 hour day), so that's the only time I've heard of clinicals on the weekend.

they answer can be yes or no. It depends on the school, the rotation site, and the programs requirements. usually they try not to, but if needed they may.

Yes. My traditional BSN does have some weekend clinicals, but we have the option of doing a weekend and taking a couple of Tuesdays or Thursdays off, or just sticking with the weekly Tuesdays or Thursdays.

The people who know the answer about your particular target program will be able to tell you. Yes, many colleges do 2 twelves, on Sat-Sun. Colleges are finding it difficult to get student clinical placements on inpatient units; sometimes they get evenings or nights, too.

Nursinursong programs own us. They can give us pretty much anything.
My instructors love their nights and weekends, too, so it would have to be dire circumstances for us to have night/weekend clinicals, but we're also a really small program that's been around long enough to have "set" relationships with local hospitals.

Well, my school assigns clinical days to different sections. So like the evening classes usually have weekend clinicals too. It kind of sucks when there is only one non-weekend clinical in that section. Supposedly it's more flexible with school. However, it's more whatever the school gives them. If they don't get any weekend days, then no weekend clinicals. They basically list the clinicals up on the site and 7 students can sign up for each day. We also get to where the clinical is at. It's when you pick the classes. Other programs will tell you when and where to show up. We're a lucky program.

Then they probably don't but you can ask.
