ick. :uhoh3:

On the flip side . . . . I have a friend who was married at 20 and got preggers a couple of years later. At the same time her mom, who thought she was going through menopause found out she was preggers too. They both had boys who attended the same schools and graduated together. One was the uncle and one was the nephew.

That is alot better take and the mom and daughter being pregnant at the same time story. :chuckle

My dad was a young dad but not me.(i am not an old mom but I was no kid either) My dad did get married again after my mom and his wife is only 10 yrs older than me. I had my first child at age 27. One of my brothers is 5 (DOB 9/10/98) and my son is 4 (DOB 9/9/99) My son and his uncle are 1 day less than a year apart. My step-mother had the gall to tell me that my brother(the 5 yr old) can tell my son what to do and my son has to listen just because he is the uncle. I told her she was ridiculous and that kind of respect would apply if there was a reasonable age difference but certainly not in this case! :rotfl:

Hi I'm new. :) Just wanted to say that this is soooo commmon where I work, actually in our area (rural south). It is so very sad, makes me very nervous for what the future holds for my own children. Do you think it's more of a demographic problem, or a socio-economic one? Just curious to know what your thoughts are.

I'm 4 days older than one of my aunts. It's wierd.

Um... we are not poor hillbillies if that is what you are asking! I actually grew up in a prominent CT neighborhood. My mom and dad just got married young and divorced and my dad found a younger woman to marry. My mom marries for money and so I always lived in nice places with money. It has nothing to do with socioeconomic issues. Plus I am in the North. If you bring your kids up right and make sure they know to marry the one they love and will not break thier commitment to then this will not happen to them. I have been married for almost 9 yrs now and I take my marriage vows seriously and I do not plan on ever remarrying unless my husband passes away on me, young. You can stay married to your wife/husband and/or not have any more kids and this way your kids will not run into having brothers and sisters while they are older and having thier own kids.
