Hello, I am confused with the answer of the following question. I thought the answer was D, but it is C. Can anyone explain why C is correct ? Many Thanks!
A nurse is evaluating the effects of medical therapy for the client with
pulmonary edema. The nurse determines that interventions were most effective
if the client exhibited which of the following?
A. Blood pressure (BP) 96/56 mmHg; Pulse(P) 110 beats per minute;
Respiratory rate (RR) 28breaths per minute; Urine output (U) 20ml/hour.
B. BP 88/50; P 116; RR 26; U 25.
C. BP 108/62; P 98; RR 24; U 40.
D. BP 116/70; P 88; RR 20; U 50.

Reallly it's C???? I don't understand how that could be the vitals are much better in D. Maybe the question was looking for a more"realistic"answer....is there something missing from this question?
i am wondering the same thing

The answer is D. It's the only one with a normal resp rate.
It's probably an error in the book.

It's got to be D. I agree with an error in the book (that does happen!!)

Answer D is correct because the respiratory rate is within normal limits which is not the case on the other choices presented to you. Normal Respiratory Rate for an adult is 12-20 rpm. feliz3

Hmmm..did they offer a rationale for the answer? Because its not like they gave you a set of vitals to work off of to compare with improvement. So..that is weird.
You don't need to compare. You know that the treatment was MOST effective when the vitals are normal. D is the only one with normal vitals.
