Hello, I am confused with the answer of the following question. I thought the answer was D, but it is C. Can anyone explain why C is correct ? Many Thanks!
A nurse is evaluating the effects of medical therapy for the client with
pulmonary edema. The nurse determines that interventions were most effective
if the client exhibited which of the following?
A. Blood pressure (BP) 96/56 mmHg; Pulse(P) 110 beats per minute;
Respiratory rate (RR) 28breaths per minute; Urine output (U) 20ml/hour.
B. BP 88/50; P 116; RR 26; U 25.
C. BP 108/62; P 98; RR 24; U 40.
D. BP 116/70; P 88; RR 20; U 50.
The only possible reason I can think of, is looking at the UO. But, when I think about it, if the used diuretics to help in the tx of this, then duh, the UO would be increased. BP AND HR would also dec dt meds used like Morphine, Afterload Reducers, etc. Hmmm.....What the....I would have chose D too. Is there a rational section? What book is it?

Compare the RR in all of the answers for the one which is within normal limits is answer D that is why D and not C is the answer. feliz3

I agree with you guys. D seems like the best answer. I wonder what their rationale was for C being the answer.
