Hey all! I wanted to created this thread in hopes of finding other Grand Canyon University (GCU) Spring 2014 hopefuls!! I am about to apply for the Fast-track 16 month BSN as a second degree student, either at Scottsdale Healthcare or GCU campus. The deadline for applications are September 15th, 2013... just a couple months away. If you are applying or thinking of applying, please join in and lets get this thread started! :)
Good luck!
Hello everyone and congrats! I am new to posting to this thread. I applied to Banner Boswell and received my acceptance letter today! I am so excited!
GPA: 3.7
TEAS: both scores in the 80's (can't remember exact scores)
Have medical assistant background but no previous degrees or hospital affiliations
Once again congrats to all!
Accepted at main :) anyone else going there? Super excited congrats everyone! GPA: 3.9 Teas: 77 math, 79 reading No previous medical experience, or hospital affiliations Anyone planning on working full time while in the program??[/quote']I'm going to SHC not main, but I will be working full time. I work at the hospital so I'm going to work 5 12 hr shifts per biweekly pay period (currently working 6...3 per week) My work is flexible tho so if/when I can't handle full time work anymore then I will drop down to part time. My main reason for trying to not do this right away is because my benefits through work become quite a bit more expensive as a part time employee. However I can drop down to 36 hours a pay period and still have them pay tuition benefit. So time will tell :)
Anybody else going to be working? How about kids? Single parents?
Also, I am currently debating work. I currently have 2 jobs, one is retail and one is home health aide. I know for sure I'm going to quit one, but not sure WHICH one yet, or BOTH. My family would prefer if I didn't work at all, but that's nearly impossible! Any advice? What's everyone else planning on?
I would like to work as a nurse extern during school, but not sure if I can get hired for that until after we finish our first semester. Until then, I am trying to find a job as a CNA on the weekends. Financially, I could probably get through school without working, but working = more experience and connections for when I am looking for my first RN job.

I work as a per diem CNA for a home health agency, but that is only a couple hours a week if that so I don't consider that working :)
But I am married with two kids so that is a full time job in itself :) haha love them!
I am so excited! I feel like I need to start buying stuff so that I don't have to buy everything all at once!

Gah, okay so I got my acceptance email like 15 minutes after my last post, but we were at the movies and I couldn't post a response!
Anyway, totally relieved I got in, and here are my stats:
GPA: 3.78
TEAS: 97/100
Previous degree and no hospital affiliation.
So glad to have had the support from this thread to make the process more bearable! Grats again to everyone
