Hey all! I wanted to created this thread in hopes of finding other Grand Canyon University (GCU) Spring 2014 hopefuls!! I am about to apply for the Fast-track 16 month BSN as a second degree student, either at Scottsdale Healthcare or GCU campus. The deadline for applications are September 15th, 2013... just a couple months away. If you are applying or thinking of applying, please join in and lets get this thread started! :)
Good luck!
Hey Toy -Did you guys get your level 2 schedule yet? If so care to share so we have an idea of the future schedule for us this summer?
Hi. Sorry I'm so late responding. Yes we have. I don't know it from memory but it is M & W mental health & Med Surg lecture. One in the morning from 9-11 & other 1-3 tu med surg clinical starting on the 28th I believe. Fri mental health clinical starting on the 17th. That one is 3 wks only & the other 10 wks. We were able to choose where we wanted to go. I have Del Webb & Boswell. We will have open lab days on the leftover days with now class time or after class. I'm so excited to begin. Oh & there's also an evidence-based practice class that is online.
Hi MrsBond:If I read this thread correctly, you're starting next week at Banner Boswell. Do you have any idea where our classes meet? I never received this information and can't seem to find it anywhere in the student portal.
Thanks!
Hello. I'll be at Boswell level 2. I was in the same boat as u. Everyone will be piled up in the main hallway on the first day. Just join them & someone will direct u from there. You'll probably be in one room for the introduction by our director first.

Hello Eyestripe!
Yesterday I attended the optional site orientation for Boswell. It is a gorgeous facility! Anyway, I imagine it will be as Toy described, but it sounded like all of our classes with the exception of 305 will be in Classroom 3, with 305 in Classroom 1.
A few important tips they brought up: leave your house earlier than normal the first few days to get a feel for traffic that time of morning. Note that the facility does open at 7am so you can get there pretty early if you want. Also, the student lounge has 2 microwaves and 2 refrigerators if you are bringing your lunch. There are some places within easy driving distance to grab a bite, otherwise.
Good luck to you and to everyone else starting next week! It has been a crazy journey so far, but I am so excited for this next phase!
Cheers :-)
AAAHHHH!!! We start this week! Anyone else having that "what have I gotten myself into?" feeling in the pit of their stomach? Excited and nervous at the same time! Mainly concerned with the two young kiddos and finding time to juggle everything, but BRING IT ON! lol. Hope everyone has a great first week and many more to come!

Thanks for the helpful advice Toy!! I appreciate it. It helps to give me a better idea of how to plan my weekends. I was expecting to hear that the program will pretty much consume my life, so it's not a huge shocker :-)
