Graduated in '09 and found my first RN position working in methadone maintenace in '10.
After a year of that I was finally "hired" via transfer into a telemetry unit and I will be starting orientation shortly.
I have two years LPN experience and I've been an RN for two years now and I still feel like a new grad.
Graduated October 2009
License December 2009
1st job Indiana Prsion job in infirmary was there 14 months starting in February 2010. Learned alot and gave me the opportunity to get interviews with hospitals that without I doubt I would have gotten.
2nd job after countless resume too many lost count and 12 interviews. Full time in orthopediacs March 2011. Still in orientation but love it. So far they are happy with my work.

Graduated June 2010
NCLEX July 2010:yeah:
had ACLS/PALS by July 2010
Began applying January 2010
worked as a ED tech for 3yrs and had ED preceptorship
1st job with title RN was in August 2010 doing flu shot clinics
2nd job was pediatric home health in October 2010 (scary for a new grad/hours not regular)
I had kept my tech job hopping a position would open at the hospital I was at...no such luck:down:
Had been on several interviews by now....1 was for an internship they interviewed 540 people hired 40
another was for a womens prision they interivewed 100 people for 1 full time spot
then interviewed at a couple of clinics
then state mental hospitals
interviewed at some nursing homes, who did not like the fact that I had worked in the ED, they said that I would not stick around for too long with them
Finally in January 2011 I was PRN for a Vent/SNF/LTC, which after orientation they offered me full time, and I was able to quit my tech job at the ED:crying2:
I loved the ED, love the pace, loved my co-workers and one day I will make it back there. I am currently working on my BSN as almost all the hospitals in my area require
