When I saw that Torrence Memorial had closed their applications to their New Grad program starting in March 2011 I realized we needed a new grad 2011 thread! The 2010 thread was a great place to ask questions and get answers about upcoming new grad opportunities. So let's make this thread the same. :)
First off, When did you graduate?
2011 New Grad Opportunities in California. Anyone waiting on hearing back after applying?

Dameron Hospital has a Versant Residency New Grad Program
But it says applications process TBA
Any old new grads out there? How long have you been looking for a job?
Congratulations! What units are you interviewing for? Good Luck on the interview.
It sounds like its an initial interview, don't know if its for a specific unit but my top choice was ED, then Peds. I didn't ask too many questions because I was so nervous but he just told me what time to be there at.
Just curious, has anyone heard back from Northridge Hospital? I can't find any recent threads regarding this hospital. As for me, they gave me a math assessment and nursing career battery assessment to take. I haven't heard back since Thursday when I took the battery assessment. Anyone else waiting to hear back from them?
I have been looking for a thread on Northridge as well. I submitted my application on 4/19 but have yet to hear anything. I was planning on waiting until the end of this week & then making a call to HR to check the status. Good luck to you! :)
I applied the very first day on the 18th and haven't heard anything either
I have an ADN and I am really starting to think that I won't get into any new grad programs because of that. They have so many BSN candidates to choose from and they even mentioned in their package that they prefer BSN. Oh well, they're loss
I'm starting a job in a long term acute hospital here in Los Angeles next week, not exactly what I wanted but it's a start.....the scary thing is that they're giving me 3 week orientation only
I would have loved to start my career in a different way but it doesn't seem it's gonna happen......

i think that i exactly know how you feel.
i am in the same boat!
asn trying to make sense of all this mess.
on the other hand is good that you kept on it and found something:yeah:. when i spoke last week with the recruiters at glendale they suggested to get into a long term acute or skill nursing while waiting for an open position. so kudos to you.
best of luck and keep it up!
