California's 2011 New Grad Program

When I saw that Torrence Memorial had closed their applications to their New Grad program starting in March 2011 I realized we needed a new grad 2011 thread! The 2010 thread was a great place to ask questions and get answers about upcoming new grad opportunities. So let's make this thread the same. :)

First off, When did you graduate?

I got the same call and picked 2 very different units so we are not competing for the same jobs - no worries :) but does this mean anything? I have yet to hear from the dept. managers. Did you get an interview?

Hey ocmama, I have not gotten a call from the nurse manager =(. Have you? I might call HR on Tuesday (which will be a week) and ask them what's up. Finger crossed for both of us!! I"ll post again if i get more info/an interview.

I am just going to wait and if I don't hear anything by the end of the week I might call. I'm always torn because I don't want to be pushy, but I also don't want to seem like I don't care :/

Hi Chillceb, I don't know if it is okay to call or not but when I spoke to HR he said I will be hearing from the nurse manager within a week, which will be tomorrow for me. Therefore, I will call tomorrow to ask him. Also, when I call I don't really tell them my name or who i am just simply.." you said interviews will be set up within a week, but I haven't gotten anything yet so does this mean I did not received an interview or are they still calling beyond the one week time line." something along those lines. nothing specific about me or who i am. I might say for what floor, but that's about it. =) i'll post something after I call

Hey guys and gals. I spoke to the Nurse Recruiter at Fountain Valley and he said that he is waiting to hear back from the unit directors regarding whom they want to interview. He said that he will be contacting those for interviews throughout the week (Tues, Wed, Thurs, and Friday). He basically said if you did not get a phone call by Friday then you most likely were not selected for an interview. Good Luck to everyone who applied and stay closely by your phones this week! :)

Just curious, has anyone heard back from Northridge Hospital? I can't find any recent threads regarding this hospital. As for me, they gave me a math assessment and nursing career battery assessment to take. I haven't heard back since Thursday when I took the battery assessment. Anyone else waiting to hear back from them?

Hi, I just got a call from them today. He said they are calling 30 people, then picking 20 to interview and 6 to hire. How did your phone interview go?
