When I saw that Torrence Memorial had closed their applications to their New Grad program starting in March 2011 I realized we needed a new grad 2011 thread! The 2010 thread was a great place to ask questions and get answers about upcoming new grad opportunities. So let's make this thread the same. :)
First off, When did you graduate?

Dameron Hospital has a Versant Residency New Grad Program
But it says applications process TBA
Any old new grads out there? How long have you been looking for a job?
Hi All! I went to the open house. If you have not been to Ukiah before, it is a VERY quant town. The hospital itself is small but the staff are really warm and the versant program is a great opportunity. The attire was business casual- some were in suits. They had a 30 minute slideshow, then you break off into groups for tours and have "circle time" where you introduce yourself and they ask regular intro questions (why you chose to be a nurse, why do you wanna work here etc) There were about 25 -30 people in our group. they are hiring for 14 Med Surg positions and 2 ED positions. They will be offering tours for the next two weeks and then notifying those selected for interviews on or near May 4th.Cheers and Good Luck !
Thank you so much getting closer! Now I know what to expect,
gettingcloser: I applied for both, but I am no longer interested because I have found a job. If I hear anything on my end I'll post it. I had applied for other positions at UC Davis a couple months ago and never heard anything at all.
Hi LDrnWNB ; Does your birth center app status say interview also? thnx
I also applied on 4/12 and my application status says the same.
Hey, i actually called them and they said they're still reviewing applications but at the same time have started interviewing people. The lady told me that once your application has been reviewed it will be sent to the hiring manager and then maybe an interview from there..
I've applied to so many of these residencies its beginning to feel like being a homeowner and waiting for the "market to go back up"....might sit tight and work my current LTC job and give up for a while.
Don't give up,l try giving the unit managers a call and telling them your good qualities (GPA, certifications, experience, perceptorship flexibility, etc.) Even leave a message if you have to. I've gotten interviews at places I have left messages to, could be coincidence or voicemails were useful.
Hey everyone! so i just wanna let people know northridge hospital medical center has a new grad program starting in August. Application wise you have to go there and pick it up. I spoke to HR today and they will not email it to you. They might be able to send it to you, but it is due May 6th. They ARE looking for local resident, but if you explain to them how you're willing to relocate they might be okay with it (depending on the nurse manager). HR was super super nice. HR Doesn't know how many open positions will be offered . They are giving priority to people with BSN and MSN and then ADN. Oh and this is some kind of package you're picking up to fill out and return to them. I haven't picked it up, for i live an hour away and still debating... good luck everyone!

I actually went to go pick up the packet from Northridge. But I also had a few friends who called Northridge's HR and they mailed the packet to them...Just a thought, but if you don't feel like driving an hour away, maybe they'll mail it to you?
