I was on probation with CA Board of Registered Nursing. I got released from probation 11 months early. In addition, I got accepted to the MSN-FNP program and will start in Fall 2021. Life is good! There is light at the end of the tunnel.

Did you submit another Live Scan of your fingerprints? I'm almost at the 2 year mark and want to make sure all my ducks are in a row.
@RNfromKorea I was in the same situation as you, and I am applying for MSN-FNP program. I have couple questions. Is there any way I can reach out to you via email or phone? Please let me know. Thanks
Wow so great to hear a positive story come out of discipline. Your post gives me hope for the future. Thank you for sharing, as my probation hasn’t even begun yet I already feel as if I all my nursing aspirations for moving my career forward just aren’t possible now. Like this black stain I’ll always be judged for. It’s great to hear that there could be a life after this.

I have recently been hired to work as a RN Case Manager for Hospice Home Health. The BRN approved it. Supervisiom includes daily in person check ins at the start of shift, supervisor accompanying me on a visit once every 2 weeks for the first 3 months (then frequency goes down to monthly), and daily phone calls to supervisor at least 2 hrs prior to the end of my shift. There are job options other than SNF but it truly depends on the RN's situation that led to probation, status in the program, etc. Just FYI. There is another Probationary RN at my work as well. I also know of two others who recently applied and were either not offered the position or not allowed to do the position, so it definitely varies.

Yes, it is. I know of a fellow CA probation RN who is currently working with a CA Senator to try and get this changed. If it's passed, it would not go it effect until next year or so, but it would be great if it does!!
