Calhoun Community College 2016

Published

Hello,

I know it's still a bit early, but I was wondering if anyone is applying for the Fall of 2016 program at Calhoun?

Let us know how it goes!

Just a little over a month left in this semester. How's everyone doing?

Did they say anything interesting at the session tonight?

I don't think that she said anything new in the session. It was all the same info. I tried to get her to give a hint on the amount of points that would get us in and she wouldn't tell. :)

I am nervous about getting in. I have 176.6 points GPA 3.0. It is so nerve wrecking. Please if any know of the cut off for points.

I went to 2nd to last session. We asked the same question but she didn't have a answer.

At the session on the 10th she said she wouldn't tell us a number for sure, but she thought last year the cut off was something like a 150-160.

From my understanding at the first session and from reading previous threads, it seems like the minimum number changes every year. My understanding is they have x number of seats, dictated by how many clinical spaces available, and that they will accept the top x number. Example, if they have 30 clinical spots for the part time ADN program, then only the top 30 students get in. One year the minimum score might be 200 while another year the minimum score might be 175. They also noted that the minimum score is usually lower in the Spring traditional ADN than in the Fall traditional ADN. I

Would love to know cut off points . Wish they had told us at the session. I feel I do not have enough points plus did not get the extra 3 for not being in a nursing program before. Does anyone know why if you have been in one before you don't get points ?

@bobbi73 I believe it's because they wanna give 1st time students a higher chance of getting in, I too was in the nursing program at Troy university, but I'm back home now, im praying we all get in!!!

Thank you for the reply :)

So, the acceptance letter will be a white big packet and the denial letter would be of a standard letter? Waiting is so bad for me. Do anybody feel the same?
