Hello,
I know it's still a bit early, but I was wondering if anyone is applying for the Fall of 2016 program at Calhoun?
I also can't swing the daytime program due to work. Most likely anyway. I work from home, so it is *more* flexible, but I don't think my boss would be very cool with a daytime program and full time work. I went ahead and sent my paperwork in with my first choice as the evening program so we will see. I'm trying to not think about it too much in hopes that time will pass by quicker haha. I haven't decided if I will go to the event. I feel like it was explained
fairly well between the info session and the recent email.
The options now are to either keep the evening program as a first choice and start in the spring, or change your first choice to full time day and still start in the fall. The info session is just to answer questions about the new curriculum/timing change for the evening program I believe.
Thanks for the info. I went to the first info session in February and they didn't state any changes in the part time program. Do y'all know why the change? When do y'all have to give them your response about wanting spring part time or fall full time. I wonder if it's gonna take longer to hear now about acceptance.
I believe someone spoke with the nursing secretary and she said that we would still find out in May. I am not completely sure but I believe they said it was state changes. I don't think it is just Calhoun. The changes are just affecting the Part-time program because less credit hours are required now. I think someone on this board said that they gave out more information at each information session because they knew more of what the changes/programs would look like. Don't quote me on all of this:)
I believe they only sent the email out to those who picked the evening program as a first choice. You may want to call and make sure, but if full time day was your first choice, it shouldn't affect you. That's what I assumed. I asked about hearing about acceptance, and (MODERATOR EDIT OF NAME) said it will still be sent out the first week of May, even if you chose the evening program that would start in the spring. They mentioned the curriculum change at the info session I went to in February and basically said the way the classes fell, they had a really important class fall into the summer semester, and they didn't have enough time to cram it all in. I figured they would wait until this application session was over since they decided to change it so late, but I guess they had to go ahead and jump ship due to the state. So, now the evening program will be a full time 5 semester program, but with it starting in the spring and also skipping summer 2017, it will still not finish until December 2018. Does that make sense? Sorry if I'm all over the place with that haha
Just a TOS reminder. Please do not post names of those in your program.
Thanks.

This whole process seems to be consistent frustration with Calhoun's disorganization for me. I am not too upset by them pushing it back one semester, but I wish I would have known before the deadline, so that I could have looked at other options too. I am trying to stay positive about that, as well as having missed out on 30 well deserved points, but they are making it pretty difficult haha. I guess if I do get in, it will give me time to retake that class and my other basic education class that didn't transfer in before the program starts. I just wish we would have had a little more of a heads up about all of this.
The selfish part of me is hoping it will push people into changing their first choice to full time so that my measley 179 points have a chance!
