  1. Following! I want to be an L&D nurse. I've a tried doula, and have attended 8 births, and am trying to figure out what else I need to do to help make myself better looking to future employers.
  2. Thank you for the encouragement. Most days I have a very positive attitude towards my future career. I know what I ulimately want to do in nursing (L&D), and have worked in that field as a doula. Sometimes the weight of the true respponsiblity hits me though, or the knowledge that I will see truly terrible things that the majority in my life won't be able to handle me unlouding on them, and I wonder if I can with stand carrying it all. I'm a rather silver lining type person. Comments like this remind me that I won't be in it alone, that I'll have fellow nurse that will understand and be there for me when I see negative out comes.
  3. Am I the only one that reads post on here and sometimes thinks 'oh man, am I really cut out for this?!?!" ...Yes? Oh okay. Excuse me while I go sit in a corner and give myself a pep talk.
  4. I got accepted into my program! They making changes to the department so I won't be starting until January, but still I got in!
  5. Ha, just saw it. Thanks!
  6. How do we join? I can't find the group.
  7. Step424real, I'm sorry! Hopefully tomorrow! Welcome and congratulations nursecrysnic! I was actually gonna suggest something like that as well, im glad you went ahead and did it.
  8. Don't go after a degree you don't really want. I graduated high school knowing I wanted to be a nurse, but didn't think I was smart enough so I spent 3 and a half years working on a history degree only two be put on probation and the suspension. I took 4 years off and went back for nursing. Those four years gave me the chance to mature, figure out a lot about myself, and be in a life position to where when I went back I'd be successful. My advice would be to focus on yourself for a bit, get healthy, and then maybe revisit nursing. Maybe it'll be something you want, and maybe you'll find a different passion along the way!
  9. I got into evening. Congrats again to everyone who got in, and good luck to all still waiting!
  10. I got in!!!!!! Can't wait to meet you all in October!
  11. This might be the biggest test of patience I've ever had, and I've had a natural labor...
  12. 2.5 hours til I'll know! Thank God dinner time and bed time routine will help speed that by.
  13. Charliebarlie, I'm a stay at home mommy of two girls that are 3 and 18 months My job calls for a lot of patience, and all that patience is being tested right now!! I think the next 4 hours and 15 minutes will probably be harder than actually waiting for the letter to come in:dead:
  14. My letters here!!!!!! Now for the next 6 ish hours to pass until my husband is home!
  15. My mail either is running late or I didn't get my letter today. Someone up the street has a flag up, so I'm hoping that means it just hasn't run yet.
