Anyone applying to calhoun community college spring 2015??
It is not too late to sign up! I have spoken with (MODERATOR EDIT OF NAME - PLEASE DO NOT POST NAMES OF THOSE IN YOUR PROGRAM PER TOS) in the nursing program about the class and it meets the Calhoun nursing program's requirements. ASHI is the title. Madison Fire Dept #1. No website. 2nd Saturday of every month 9-12. I'll be there Saturday!
Forgive my ignorance about the program, but when you say that it meets Calhoun's requirements, is this something we need to do in addition to the nursing program? I am sure you get CPR certified in the nursing program. Are you doing it early so you can be more marketable for a part-time job while you are in School? Just wondering if it is something I should do, or just get it in the program if I get accepted. Thanks!
Jay-bo,
Yes, this is something you must do BEFORE Spring semester begins. We must be certified to enter the program (They will tell us all about this in Orientation, after acceptance). You may take Calhoun's CPR class for a whopping $150 dollars, or take this one at $25 and be done with it :) Also Huntsville Hospital offers CPR classes regularly, and they charge $55 dollars for students.
I have a friend who just entered the program in the Fall. She also took the CPR class at the Madison Fire Dept., and said it was sufficient certification for our program.
@ River333 I don't think you need anything. I asked him and he said just to call and let him know that you were coming! I think his name is (MODERATOR EDIT OF NAME - PLEASE DO NOT POST NAMES PER TOS) and it's that number I gave in the earlier post. It is Fire Dept. #1 in Madison at 9am. I think it may even be just $15 :) but I would bring $25 to be safe. I hope I see you there! My name is Heather by the way!
Yes, I got my letter for Fall (I didn't make the cut then) after only 4 wks! ....And my friend got her acceptance package the same day (we live close) so at least we know they send them all out asap!
Oh, and don't freak out if you just get a letter, my friend who DID get in got a single page acceptance letter, I believe she got the packet at orientation.
