Anyone applying to calhoun community college spring 2015??

A little advice. I bought some of my scrubs after orientation, Friday and here is what I learned. The bookstore has a very limited selection and does not have odd sized like Med-Long. The only have S, M, L etc. (at least in the men's). I also bought the patches at the book store. Do NOT do that if you can help it. I went to Parkway Scrubs and bought two shirts and two pants (that is all they had in my size), and they have the patches there. They will also sew them on. I paid $8 apiece for the patches at the bookstore. The are only about $3 at Parkway Scrubs and they sew them on for $3 each. That means you get the patches and get them sewn on for almost $2 less than a patch costs at the bookstore. Parkway also had a good selection of lab coats. i bought mine. The great think about Parkway Scrubs is that, even if they don't have your size in the right color (of scrubs) you can try on some in a different color, figure out your size, and then just order them on line in the right color because they gave us the model/style numbers. Then you can take them to Parkway and buy the patches and have them sew them on. I also learned alot about shoes. They can have NO color on them at all. Not even on the edges of the soles. They can have NO holes on the top of them. Some people I asked said no holes at all, but some said just not on the top. I learned this by joining the Calhoun Nursing Mentors Facebook page. It is a great place to ask questions. Also people on there selling books, etc. You should all join. you will have to be approved when you join but I was approved the same day. If you try to join, and don't get approved, let me know. Turns out I know the girl that started it. She recognized my pic when I joined and reached out to me. Also for those of you who have met me, feel free to send me a FB friend request if you would like. My FB name is the first name that I told you to call me, followed by Winn. I know some of your first names, but don't know all of your last names. Hope this helps.

Hey y'all! I made a FB page for all of us :) It is called Calhoun Future RN's Spring 2015!

Has anyone received the email for uploading medical paperwork? I am going in today to see if I can register, all my requirements have been met (except for uploading immunizations). My major has been changed in the system...but online I am still not authorized for registration.

I'm in the same boat. I just emailed them before close today, and I'm hoping to hear back. When I was there on Monday, the receptionist who's handling things for us told me I was one of the names sent over that day to be cleared to register and that I should be able to register by that afternoon. Well, I couldn't. So please let me know if they tell you anything new.

I went Friday and she was not there. The lady in admissions said I needed instructor approval to register, I will be back first thing Mondays morning. This is getting frustrating, as I have had everything complete for over a month now :/

Does anyone know about the rules for piercings? Thanks.

Only one stud per ear. No other piercings allowed.

What is the new point system for the lpn program? I didn't see it online, only saw the application for Spring ADN program. I am applying for the Fall 2016, and am considering the LPN program vs. ADN, so that I can get through and get to work faster.

Never mind guys, I found it :)
