A little advice. I bought some of my scrubs after orientation, Friday and here is what I learned. The bookstore has a very limited selection and does not have odd sized like Med-Long. The only have S, M, L etc. (at least in the men's). I also bought the patches at the book store. Do NOT do that if you can help it. I went to Parkway Scrubs and bought two shirts and two pants (that is all they had in my size), and they have the patches there. They will also sew them on. I paid $8 apiece for the patches at the bookstore. The are only about $3 at Parkway Scrubs and they sew them on for $3 each. That means you get the patches and get them sewn on for almost $2 less than a patch costs at the bookstore. Parkway also had a good selection of lab coats. i bought mine. The great think about Parkway Scrubs is that, even if they don't have your size in the right color (of scrubs) you can try on some in a different color, figure out your size, and then just order them on line in the right color because they gave us the model/style numbers. Then you can take them to Parkway and buy the patches and have them sew them on. I also learned alot about shoes. They can have NO color on them at all. Not even on the edges of the soles. They can have NO holes on the top of them. Some people I asked said no holes at all, but some said just not on the top. I learned this by joining the Calhoun Nursing Mentors Facebook page. It is a great place to ask questions. Also people on there selling books, etc. You should all join. you will have to be approved when you join but I was approved the same day. If you try to join, and don't get approved, let me know. Turns out I know the girl that started it. She recognized my pic when I joined and reached out to me. Also for those of you who have met me, feel free to send me a FB friend request if you would like. My FB name is the first name that I told you to call me, followed by Winn. I know some of your first names, but don't know all of your last names. Hope this helps.

Well, I think it would be wrong if they did. Not everyone has the exact same circumstances and things going on in their lives. Especially when moving across country to attend their program. they should take that into consideration. In all fairness, they haven't gotten all their paperwork in order either. None of us have received our mysterious e-mail with what to do with our paperwork. and we were given a very short time to get all this done. I don't mean to rail on them. I am just glad to be accepted. I am just saying that things happen and that should be apparent to them since they had glitches, too. I would hope that when you show them that you got all your stuff done as requested except one test, it would show that you have acted in good faith and that you will have everything done well before the program starts.

I think you are right. It probably won't be that big a deal. Don't stress over it.

I didn't expect you guys to change yours. But it is the avatar you have to change, not the profile pic. I am thinking I am interested in O.R. But I have heard good and bad things about it. I still look forward to trying some different things in clinicals.

OK. got my pic on there. Say hello friday.

They probably did that because you have not been to orientation or turned in your medical paperwork to be qualified to register.

OK, so I think I have changed my profile pic but not sure if it worked. I am only going to leave it like that for a couple days so yall take a look at it and come and say HI at orientation. If it didn't work, disregard everything I just said! Haha! See ya!

Well, I thought so too, but when I asked if you went to the Huntsville Campus this past summer, I thought you said you had Micro. I took A&P I and II both this past summer. I had the lady with the funny first name for both. I was thinking you were in my A&P II class. I was thinking you and I talked a few times in the Student Center, also. Anyway, I hope so. That would be great. Do you know if anyone else from our class got in? If you are the same girl I am thinking of, there was a girl named Donna who sat near you who was going to try this time. I think you guys studied alot together.

My family doctor drew blood for all of mine at the same time. They had the results in two or three days.

Not sure of the hours yet, but it is PRN and she said she will schedule me based on what hours I tell her I am available. She has no problem with me changing my hours of availability every semester. I know I will not have to work weekends.
