Cal State East Bay acceptance letters for Fall 2010??

Published

My friend and I applied to the nursing program at Cal State East Bay for Fall 2010 and she received her conditional acceptance package to the nursing program today. I on the other hand have only received an email (last week) requesting transcripts for the nursing department even though my application went in before hers. On the website it says that throughout December they will be emailing out requests for transcripts, not acceptance packages, so I was just wondering if I should be worried. Has anybody else received an acceptance or conditional acceptance package?

I also have a previous bachelor's degree and I'll be commuting from Mountain View. I hope to move a little closer to school but no solid plans to move as of now. So I'll just have to get used to a 40-50minute commute to Hayward!

I have some questions for current CSUEB nursing students:

Do any of you have a part-time job? Do you think it will be feasible to attend full-time nursing school and hold a part-time job?

Does anyone know about WST requirement?

Does anyone know about WST requirement?

Yes. I took the WST test last weekend.

Basically, you just sign up for a test date and then take it. They give you an essay prompt and you have an hour and a half to type an essay on a computer. It's really easy, nothing to worry about.

You can sign up for the test here:

thanks jenna! Do you know if you have to take the test before you can register for classes?

I am taking it tomorrow at SJSU. I thought there was a multiple choice section as well??? Maybe it is different than at East Bay.

On the computers...is it like Microsoft word so you can spell check?

No there's no spell check on their microsoft, and it is just a plain notepad I believe. I took mine on the paper since I'm not a good typer

What's the purpose of the wst? Is it just a graduation requirement or will it block you from registering for classes if you haven't taken it?

You need it to graduate. You can still register for classes before taking the WST.

It is done on WordPad with no spell check. There are no multiple choice questions, it is simply an essay.. kinda like tests we did in high school.

That is the writing skills test. You have to pass it to get your degree. It's not too bad. Its a timed essay test. They give you 2 topics and you pick one.

To those that got accepted, do you speak another language? I know they add extra points for people that speak 2 languages.

I don't. I'm trying to learn spanish through podcasts/Rosetta stone but I've been really lazy about it. I also didn't have the health care worker experience.
