My friend and I applied to the nursing program at Cal State East Bay for Fall 2010 and she received her conditional acceptance package to the nursing program today. I on the other hand have only received an email (last week) requesting transcripts for the nursing department even though my application went in before hers. On the website it says that throughout December they will be emailing out requests for transcripts, not acceptance packages, so I was just wondering if I should be worried. Has anybody else received an acceptance or conditional acceptance package?
You might have to meet with the financial aid counselor and you definitely have to attend the Stafford loan seminar.
After the first year I don't think you have to re-attend the Stafford seminar unless you switch lenders or schools.
Did you complete your FAFSA before the 03-01-10 priority date? If so, the financial aid counselor is available at the Concord campus one Wednesday out of the month (the date of the loan counseling session) from 1500-1700. Call the Concord campus to inquire which date, arrive at 1445 or earlier and sign-up.
If you are on Hayward campus, go to the student center in M-Hall (the tallest building on campus) and ask to speak to financial aid counselor. I only went there once so I don't know much about it.

Do any of the nursing requirements fill the UD Science GE requirement? It is the only UD GE requirement not mentioned so far on this blog.
The UD Science GE requirement is the "B6" class I spoke of earlier. You can search previous schedules in "mycsueastbay" for the B6 courses to see what's there. Not every class is offered every quarter. Good hunting!
Hello Paganoid,
Thank you for providing all the helpful tips. Do you have any suggestions on (1) how to get affordable healthcare insurance and complete all the health documentation requirements. I am currently uninsured and was wondering how previous students handled this requirement. Also (2) would you say that getting a laptop is a priority before starting the program in the Fall?
Thanks again
Hi Jennnafezz, I'm finishing my first year of nursing school at CSUEB, and was looking for UD GE class for the Summer. I was thinking about "Oceans" class as well, but think I am not really good at "nature" and geology. You said the class is simple, do you think anyone can handle it or I better take kinesiology? If you took this class already and can share with your experience i would really appreciate it. I am concerned about my GPA and do not want to get any "B" in those classess since the nursing school is hard, and I already got couple "B" s. Thank you in advance
I got the call today that I am off the wait list and have been offered a spot for Fall 2010!!! There aren't any more spots at the Hayward campus, so I will most likely be attending the Concord campus. The woman said she would send me more info soon, but is there anything I should be doing right now?? Also, does anyone know of good areas to live by the school? I live in Santa Cruz and will be moving up there but I don't know the area well at all :/ Thanks!
Congrats! The program coordinator did email us a lot of info on what upcoming documents that are needed to be submitted. But if you do want to get ahead of the process, you'd be needing a TB test/result, a record/titer test for your vaccinations for MMR, Hep B, a current Diphtheria-Tetorifice, and Varicella.

Ugh.. I dread calling, it always takes like 20 minutes for me to get off hold. Oh well. Thanks!
