Cal State East Bay acceptance letters for Fall 2010??

Published

My friend and I applied to the nursing program at Cal State East Bay for Fall 2010 and she received her conditional acceptance package to the nursing program today. I on the other hand have only received an email (last week) requesting transcripts for the nursing department even though my application went in before hers. On the website it says that throughout December they will be emailing out requests for transcripts, not acceptance packages, so I was just wondering if I should be worried. Has anybody else received an acceptance or conditional acceptance package?

was wondering if anyone has an actual curriculum schedule for hayward's nursing program? jenn posted a concord program up and the first year and a half seemed to be a workload, 16 units.. =o

you mean like the actual times of the classes?

like what classes are to be taken each quarter

The thing I posted shows that :)

Here is another:

So in Fall, we will be taking NURS 2020 (lecture), 2021 (clinical), 2022 (skills lab), 2005 (pathophysio), and 2010 (nutrition) if you haven't already taken nutrition. "Code 1", "Code 2", and "UD Sci GE" don't have to be taken in a particular quarter.

If you go to http://my.csueastbay.edu and look up the schedule for Fall 2009, you can see the times these classes were at last year. They might change for us, who knows, we'll find out in a couple of weeks.

Oh and! If you want to read about the classes that those course numbers correspond to (like NURS 2020 is "Introduction to contemporary nursing"), go here:

CSUEB Catalog 2010-2011: Nursing (Undergraduate)

great info! thanks so much jenn, new to the csueb and was not able to navigate around its website to find such a "road map" for the nursing program. All this "code" classes and "ud sci ge" courses will need to be researched, as these terms are new to me.

No problem :)

"Code" means two classes related to history or political science. Details:

http://www.csueastbay.edu/ge/gerequirements/americancode.htm - you may have already fulfilled this. I took "US Hist before 1877" and "US Hist after 1877" at Chabot/LPC and it fulfilled it for me.

"UD Sci" means upper division science general education. CSUEB requires three upper division general education classes. HDEV 3800 will fulfill the upper division social science requirement, and HIST 4710 (hist of nursing) will fulfill the upper division humanities requirement. That means you need to take an upper division science class that qualifies for general ed, at some point before you graduate.

There is also a performing arts/activities requirement, and a cultural/women's requirement.

I just got an email confirming receipt of my acceptance and campus preference.. I wonder when they will let us know if we got our preference or not. Hmmm.

After May 17 or on May 17 probably.

Oh yeah. Do we get to decide our schedule for all of the classes? or do we get put in a pre-arranged schedule.

what makes you think that?

Most of the schedule is pre-arranged. There is some degree of choice in the clinicals/skills times, but I think it depends on rank. Like, I was talking to some CSUEB nursing students yesterday who were at my hospital, and they said they get to choose between certain clinical sites/times but that it "depends on rank" so idk what that means. I know most of the clinicals (after the 1st qtr) are around 6-12 and some are 3-9pm or something like that.

I got accepted in April too!!! woohoo! So does the e-mail they sent today mean that I actually got my campus preference?

Yay!

I don't think it does. I think it would have been clearer. I think they are just now going through the acceptances and wanted to make sure all the information was correct. Which campus did you pick?
