CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY nurse applying for licensure of VERMONT

hi anyone!

Am from CDOC, Phil.. Anybody here applying for NCLEX of Vermont State, who is only waiting for the license verification from PRC? I got mine and been told that its the applicant who is to send it. I plan to send mine, hopefully along with others next week, January 11- 17, 2009 to beat the effectiveness of the new Feb 01, 2009 Format.

I would be glad to hear from anyone!:)

I guess I have to file another application using all the new forms after feb. 01 to be sure. Thanks a bunch!

Any time that there is a change in forms, the new ones should be used. And if one takes the time to do some reading on the VT website, they will see that this was started so that they received all of the needed information from the school, In the past, wasted time was spent contacting the school for additional information or contacting the nurse to obtain more detailed information.

This actually makes it easier for everyone around. And is also a new requirement only for those from the UK and the Philipppines because of issues with the way that hours were being posted.

Rushing to get the old ones submitted and then finding out that they were not filled out properly is only going to delay one with their processing. If they did not think that the new form was warranted, they never would have started with it.

Just my opinion on it.

Thanks for your opinion Ms. Suzanne! I'm sure it would be a great help to us (applicants in VT).

hello! i also applied to vermont BON. my application was received last dec 2008.

regarding the PRC verification form, i mailed it myself. it was part of their instructions that the said form should be mailed together with the application form (the one coming from you). by the way, i used the oct08 revised form.

all in all, there were 2 mailings...the school form & my application form (which includes the PRC).

i just followed the instructions of the revised oct08 form.

dont trust the PRC 100%, meaning, they should send the license verification directly to vermont nsg board (not you)..

you are still lucky coz you already have it, me, i still have to follow it up, and yes im concerned of that feb.01, 2009 deadline as clearly stated in their website particularly in the icon on "international nurses"..

whew imagine if i have to resend again new set of documents at additional cost because of the inefficiency our PRC, they cant help you find work but worst they our life harder, philippine goverment at its best...

Hi cioman94,

Actually i was hesitant when i was told that i will be the one to send it especially , there was no seal at the back .. Now im really convinced to go back and ask them to sign the back part... Good thing i have not sent mine since i am still following up the new format which i requested the school again. Yes, this is the third time that i will be sending since there is always new format on road, every now and then... hahaha! Im sick.. So i think u should , you know start filling up those revised format and send again...

FYI: My PRC dox took two months before i got it back.. its like Nov.4, 08 - Jan.08, 09.. so the other dox u sent earlier if u did ,is no longer valid.:(

God speed!

I already have filed my VT NCLEX requirements from my school and from PRC (license verification) last year using the old format (rev 7/2008). Though I haven't mailed such documents yet to VT.

However, I just found out that VT have revised the forms as of 12/2/08. Would you suggest that I will file "again" to my school & PRC the reqts. using the new format? Or will push thru mailing my docs to VT with the old format? Im afraid that if I will mail my documents using the old format it would cause so much delays in processing my application. Pls. advise. Thanks!

Hi cookiss777,

Its a big "YES". You should fill up again using the newest form now, because you only have 16 days to go before Feb. 01, 2009, but if u can be sure that VT will be able to receive your Oct. format before the said date, well and good then.

God speed!

helo!

Im also applying for vermont. my friend told me that i have two choices whether the prc will send it or i will. if the prc will send it its quite expensive i dunno how true and so i told prc that i would be the one sneding it. I just passed my form to prc last week and i have to go back to prc to get it and mail it. By the way im from cebu.

hI gurl123,

Sending dox to US is around 7h thru postal mail and that is 3-5 days receipt. if PRC can assure that your dox will be received by VT before Feb 01, 2009 then well and good, since all dox received that date and forth should be in their newest format. Just ask PRC how much would they charge you if they are the ones to send.. but i havent heard ever that they were the ones who sent documents to US.

The problem that i see if they are the one to send it, is that they would send it, when it reaches to a certain number of documents having not taken into consideration the deadlines of the format being used. That is just my opinion. If your are to let them send it, just make sure you have a lot of time...

Be sure all your other dox should be in the newest format if you think that it will be received by VT after Feb 01, 209.

God speed!

Hello fyure! Thanks for your idea, i'll do that.

I have a follow-up question regarding secondary education as an additional requirement in VT. They now require a certification from your secondary school. Does it mean the diploma I received on my graduation day? Just wanted to make sure.

Hey guys, on the VT website, the icon "International Nurse Application", when you opened it, read page "B", item no. 5:

"...Request your country’s licensing authority to complete the Verification of Licensure form.

This should be certified, sealed in an envelope by the licensing body and included with

your application packet or sent directly from the licensing authority to our office. We

need this verification for your original license and your most current license..."

honestly, i only understood the last clause, i dont understand the clause prior the "or".. anyway, for your reference..

PRC is weird (although P means professional).. In Davao City, they wont allow applicants to "touch" and send any verification form, meaning they will send it directly to the nursing board.. In CDO, as mentioned in this thread, is different..

Do you know that if you ask for any certain "certification" that the format differs depending what PRC city office you requested it..

i guess Vermont is presently processing August applications, which may mean, it may take 5-6 months for an application to be processed, tsk tsk..

CDO is in the Philippines.. Good luck to our applications..

hey guys, i need help. it's been almost 5 months since my VT application. recently, i received an email from VT and im not sure what they meant. i thought i read the VT site for foreign nurses so thoroughly before, and now it seems i still lack the necessary papers for their verification purposes. im asking u guys for some enlightenment. rest assured, it will be highly appreciated. thanks much!

p.s. i am just going to paste the entire email here. i hope u dont mind icon_smile.gif

Dear Ms. **************

To be eligible to take the NCELX-RN exam through the state of Vermont you must have attended a nursing program approved by your government or national nursing council. At this time the state of Vermont is unable to verify that the nursing program you attended holds official approval or held official approval when you attended.

You may take one of the following actions to provide the state of Vermont with official verification of your nursing program approval status.

* Contact CGFNS and request a Credentials Evaluation Service (CES): Healthcare Profession & Science Report to be completed for Vermont. This report will indicate whether your nursing program holds official approval.

* Contact the government offices in the country where you obtained your education and request that they send us a list of approved nursing programs. The list must indicate the organization that approves the nursing programs, the start and ending date of the approval, a contact person at the office sending us the letter with a direct email address and a website where we can verify this information.

Please be aware that your application will not continue to be processed until the Vermont Board of Nursing has received verification of your nursing program approval status. We will hold your application open for one year from the date of this letter which will give you sufficient time to have the CES report completed or gather the information the Board of Nursing needs to verify approval information from your government. All application components must be received in this office within 1 year or your application will be closed.

If you prefer you may inform us that you wish to withdraw your application to take the NCLEX-RN exam through the state of Vermont. Withdrawing your application means that you will no longer be considered for approval to take the NCLEX exam through our state. The application fee that you submitted will not be refunded. Please be aware that we are not able to forward any of your documents that were received by our office to any other state or credentialing service. Contact our office by email at [email protected] if you wish to withdraw your application.

Sincerely,

They can not determine if the program you attend is approved, you have two ways of correcting this situation.

A. Ask CES to make a determination and have them notify the Vermont BON.

B. Ask your government to send a list to VT.

You request will be sitting on a desk until you have completed this.

What it is saying is you need CES doing by CGFNS as VT can not verify your training.
