I gave my three week notice today to my supervisor, no longer able to tolerate the stress where I work. A hateful response from a doctor who I had asked to review a case was the LAST straw, and I am leaving with no new job lined up to go to. Right now I could care less, if I lose everthing I have..at least it's better than losing what little sanity I have left.... :stone
All Of Us In The Medical Field (and Other Fields As Well) Have To Realize We Are Only Human And Must Set Our Limits. Had You Stayed, What Good Would It Do Frustration I Am Sure. I Applaud You And Wish You All Of The Best. It Wasn't An Easy Decision And I Am Sure Something Positive Will Happen Actually It Already Has You Put Yourself First...good Luck And God Bless
Sounds like you have a lot of friends. Would they let you move to a different department for awhile? Would be a shame to losses your invested time. Do they have a sister hospital or ECF you could transfer to?? Maybe Home Heath.
Other that work are there other problems?
Wish you the best of luck in what ever you do.
Your supervisor cried with you, managers were sorry to see you go. But did this have any impact on making an impact on the stressful issues you were dealing with? Did they ask what they could do to keep you from leaving?
Nope, they didn't. As a matter of fact in a meeting on Friday, the same supervisor who cried with me on Tuesday announced that Corporate was going to increase our department's workload even more, by adding even more lives (without any additional nurses, of course), and is contemplating putting all the nurses on the queue (I work for a MCO) due to the fact that we are getting a thousand more calls a month, so they can "monitor our customer service better". :rotfl:
Corporate America has totally lost their minds! :lol_hitti
Those poor devils, let me out of there!!! :crash_com
:balloons: Good for you! Quality of life is too important to throw away on a job that's making you sick. When your life is made horrible by the conditions under which you have to work, it's time to move on. My DH did the same thing about 3 weeks ago and he's more relaxed now than I've seen him in a long time.
You will have no trouble finding another place -- there are a million options for RNs that don't involve hospital floor nursing!
Take a deep breath and jump right in!
Two days after I left this job, I interviewed for and was hired by a case management company!! :balloons: The moral of this story is: if you are miserable where you are now working and feel that you are hopelessly trapped...don't be. Throw your fate to the wind and put your trust in the Lord as I did, and everything will work out fine! :)

Sounds to me like trust (in the Lord) but apply (instead of verify)!
Fantastic!
