Lol that cartoon was funny. I'm partying, shopping, pretty much my fun time is limited. I've come to terms my life consist of Scrubs and IVs. Way diff than undergrad life

The minute that I received my acceptance call into the RN program, I started looking at ways to save. No eating out, no shopping for clothes, and no going to the movies, no nothing. I plan to cut my cable in January since I'll have no time to watch it anyway. I will be getting a tune up on my already old car. If it can keep pushing for another 2 years, I'll be fine.

I understand I receive my acceptance letter and trying to cut back every where i can. Put my old car in the shop to be repaired.

We got rid of our home phone and satellite TV and bought a couple Rokus so we can watch Netflix and Hulu. Saved about $140. We're also on a strict food/gas budget and we refinanced my car to bring down the payments.

We're relatively pretty frugal to begin with so there wasn't all that much to cut back on, but we're doing what we can!

Frugalness is the way to go. Thankfully, my parents offered me the chance to move back in with them as long as I remain successful in school, so that was a big help. Also, I cut back on a lot of luxuries, as well as, I plan on changing phone plans as well to save even more money. Every little bit helps! That difference can be gas money! Not to mention, I worked my butt off the last 3 years as a pharmacy tech at two jobs, 60 hour weeks most of the time, to save up for school as well. :)

I have no idea how I will cope. As a single mom, working a full time job I don't have the abililty to soley focus on school. My only wish for the next two years is to finish nursing school, raise my son, continue working full time and manage to keep my sanity.

Make sure you thank your parents often for the wonderful gift of rent-free living and food on the table. What great people :D You've got a good plan there. It will pay off later when you're done with school.

Without my income tax, i probably wouldn't have finished my program. Times were tough, just limit your eating out. Prepare all meals! BUY used books.

I had to wait till my cable TV contract was over before I cut it off. Otherwise I would've had to shell out $200-300! SOOOO glad we cut the cable, stupid bill was getting ridiculously out of hand, like >$150/month!!! Now I just have internet so that alone saved me $100 even though it's the last semester of school. Waaay too expensive! Now my fiancee and I just have Netflix and a bunny ear antenna to pick up over the air channels. We also haven't been to the movies together in... well I can't remember the last time :) That's for after graduation indulgence.

I try to limit how much I eat out especially at clinical site cafeterias. It's a precarious balance trying to figure out how much to work biweekly to pay the bills (I'm on-call) and not working so much that you take away from study time.

I tried to not use the AC and heater as much. Also we have been penny pinching when going grocery shopping, i.e. using coupons, buying sale items only, forgoing organic foods.

haha, this was a funny cartoon!!
